Anyone that really has been listening to them for years, knows, it's over boys..of course they have to still feed the machine..but you know......any new stuff is marginal, at best.., Like P.T.Barnum said......
I love the Rolling Stones, one of my favorite bands ever, but they should have stopped making music a long time ago, its not like they are bad now, but they are not as good as they were, and they are getting old, the truth is once you are say 50 or older, you are too old to rock n roll, its sad but its the truth, but that doesn't mean they can't be involved in rock n roll start a foundation for young and actually talented musicians or something, just a thought.
WHEN YOU GIVE ME A SMOULDERING LOOK AND PUT OUT YOUR CIGARETTE WHEN I SAW YOU COME SAMTERING OVER YOU WORE A PALE BLUE DRESS (REPEAT CHORUS) LIFE IS SHORT, ONE LOOK AND ITS OVER COMES AS QUITE A SHOCK ALL I GOT IS SOME MEMORIES STUCK IN AN OLD SHOEBOX AND IT WONT TAKE LONG TO FORGET YA YOU KNOW IM NEVER WRONG ITLL ALL BE OVER BY CHRISTMAS NO, IT WONT TAKE LONG IT WONT TAKE LONG
BABY IT WONT TAKE LONG TO FORGET YOU TIME IT PASSES FAST ITLL ALL BE OVER IN A MINUTE YOULL BE IN THE PAST YOU CAN LOSE THE LOVE OF A LIFETIME IN A SINGLE ROLL YOU CAN GAIN A FORTUNE IN AN INSTANT OR YOU CAN LOSE YOUR SOUL AND IT WONT TAKE LONG TO FORGET YA YOU KNOW IM NEVER WRONG ITLL ALL BE OVER IN A MINUTE AND IT WONT TAKE LONG AND IT WONT TAKE LONG TO FORGIVE YA BUT ITS HARD TO FORGET CAUSE IT SEEMS LIKE ITS YESTERDAY THE DAY THAT WE FIRST MET
Black and Blue is the only Stones recording I ever bought (albeit neccessarily) on vinyl, tape and cd. It 's old ('75?) but long before the ska bands in the UK got that groove and mash up sound! Plus Billy Preston plays keyboards on it. Emotional Rescue is kind of all over the map, but totally overlooked for it's influence on the styles that soon became tremendously popular-Ska and Alternative-AKA new Wave...
I totally agree its no Exile On Main Street but still a good record. When I first heard ABB I was surprised. Rough Justice really caught my attention. ONNYA, Rain Fall Down, Infamy, Back of My Hand, This Place Is Empty are all good tunes.

I couldn't believe they'd put something like this out......not even close to the great songs/riffs they used to come up with...

I could see Hanoi Rocks doing this song. Just goes to show what a big influence on rock n' roll the Stones had.
