Man i bought one of these a while ago and had something exactly like this in mind! I got the carbon blades n paddles and have the tail shaft and stabilizers on order, i cant find the canopy tho - whered u get yours?

get it ready for flight, then turn the camera on.. and maybe get a simulator so you can actually learn how to fly... the only thing you seem to be getting good at is spending way to much money and learning nothing about piloting. all those lights and odds and ends just way your heli down and drain the battery quicker. they have no performance inhancing attributes whatsoever

they are just making sure everything is ready for the flight and probably also reinforcing the camera on the thing you dont want that to fall off at that altitude

i have this carbon look film, its ment for cars but im gonna do the canopy in it

the black carbon look makes it look badass

not sure whats out there now in the way of servos but i run an align DS520 coreless on both my 400's and they have never needed anything doing to them ;)

for cyclic i run hitec 65mg no issues there either :) even with all my crashes :D

One of my heli's is a blade 400 so I know what they look like and that looks like one to me. It's a nice machine dude. Mine is pretty much standard at the moment. I've given it an Align GP750 gyro and a DS 420 tail servo.

It looks like you've modded yours loads.

cheers mate wont tell you the actual costs, but if you pause the video at 32 seconds and look at the little grey box with white writing? well that was over £350 (thats over $700 for the grey box ALONE) add the price of that to the little red box above it (gyro and servo combo) and you probably wouldnt have enough change from a $1000 to buy dinner for 1 in mc donalds :)

Cool upgrades, probably the most I've seen done to a Blade 400. If you don't look too closely at the head you can't even recognize it until you pull the canopy off.

I love when people talk smack about rc helicopter videos... You'll never know how hard it is to fly these things because nobody will ever let you touch one. For good reason, you'd end up making $100+ in damage close to a second after you tried to put it in the air. Getting it upside down like he did in a controlled manner shows that he knows how to fly. The idle up switch is a common mistake that many of us have fallen victim to.

Blade 400, DX6i and helicommand. Any tips on or links to setting it up? For some reason it seems like my helicommand is fighting my radio inputs and only the pitch servo responds to increase in throttle :? as a result I can never even get my bird of the ground with it connected.

aiight bruv :D well the case in this vid has really served me well! so well infact i got another case to try a better version and havnt even bothered to start it yet so i would recommmend it :D should fild it at lowes or walmart over there ;) but if you want a deluxe look and plenty of room go for the case i modded for my trex 500 as i will comfortably fit a trex 500 and blade 400 if needed bruv ;)

in this vid i use a flycam v2 mate but have also had good results witha spy pen camera from amazon you might get away with the following aswell phones, light digital cameras, any small CCD camera if you got the money and CMOS if you want cheap results (like the vid here) hope that helps ;)

i apologize for attacking you in the beginning, all of us crash our helis, i crashed dozens of times just to learn how to hover, if you watch my video (blade 400 first time 3D flight with scorpion motor nose in landing) this is my first 3D attempt ever after practicing on the sim- Phoenix 30hours of practice saved me from crashing. practicing is to be don on the sim, that is the way to go in my opinion.

I like your setting the combination of fly-cam and Helicommand seems that they are made for each other, but man maybe it's just me i don't trust helicommand when flying 3D. i don't know much about helicommand and have never tried it, i think your setting is for precision and stable hovering. nice work. good luck with less crashes lool.

cheers mate :) i would say you are right not to aswell ;) if flying 3d you would have to have the HC in "red mode" basicly slitched off then if you get into probs flip to "yellow mode" take finger off cyclic and the bird should level itself (lettin go of cyclic is harder than it sounds when ya there too lol) in "green mode" the bird should hover by itself up to around 6/10 feet i think but i have always flown in YM due to only havin DX6i

you need to practice how to fly your blade 400 because it seems obvious that you don't know how to fly even with helicommand you still crash, helicommand is not made for inverted flight and 3D pilots.

erm actually the "helicommand 3D" which i have in this helicopter IS made for inverted flight (dunno where you get you info from but here on earth we use google) also on the date i recorded this vis i had had the heli for aprox 6 weeks (baught it last august! why not look at the vid i filmed from this heli LAST WEEK and comment on that instead of the vid i recorded last september :D
