We saw these guys this past summer (2011) in Vancouver at the Pacific National Exhibition for free and they played their guitars off. An excellent show, superb musicianship (both studied music at my alma mater, Temple University in Philly), and they played for 2.5 hours ... all their hits and near hits. God bless 'em :-)
Fantastic, just fantastic. I never get tired of this song. H&O made some really great music back in the 70s. I just recently found out. Before I just knew them from hits like Maneater and Private Eyes. This song, and the whole Abandoned... album is awesome.
I heard this song on the radio the other day. Haven't heard it in 30 years! Great album and great song! Thanks for the post. This song made me think of the good ole days. I miss those happier times....
Hi! Love this album...this song showcases Daryl Hall and John Oates' signature harmony and John Oates' wonderful voice...and the awesome thing is...IMHO they STILL have it!!!! Thanks for putting this here! Type to you later! God Bless! Jan Hawkins (Jan in VA)
Goodness, I took this wonderful music for granted back in the day.....like it was just there for the taking....no appreciation of the genius behind it! Wonderful song....
@zzyyxxo I completely agree with you. Their earlier stuff was great! Like this song...how creative and "authentic" to them and their own style. Their later stuff -- like the hits -- was sort of a sell out, ya' might say. So "not them." I just think these older songs let them express their talents so much better.
Would have liked to have met Sarah on one of these turnaround flights. Clearly had a big influence on John or Darryl's life. One of Hall and Oates' best tuens ever.

No doubt, their best. Every song on this album, awesome. The later stuff got kind of lame.

I hear this poignant song playing in Wawa stores; an East Coast convenience-chain, and I linger whenever it's playing until it fades-out. Great song.

this album is so overlooked, and such a masterpiece.
not at all like their later pop hits, which i find quite juvenile.

Everything about this song is mesmerizing. The vocals, harmonies, rich quality sound, and Oates' smooth deep pitch.

this album holds up. Maybe the most sustained effort of their careers.

why do they never have this song on their greatest hits collections?

@iamawhore1 I totally agree with you. But, then, why did "I'm On Fire" by Springsteen only last for two minutes?

vocals are great but the soft-rock attitude is lame.

Sarah was Daryl's GF for about 20 years and she and her sister (who died) co-wrote several songs with H&O.
