I'm no fan of Bill, but when he was talking about sending ground troops into Pakistan, he was referring to a full-out invasion of the country, like how we did in Iraq. Bill also said that Mccain wouldn't send in ground troops either. One targeted raid on a compound is NOT the same as an invasion. In this case, he has no need to apologize. It doesn't matter anyways, Obama will get reelected.

I do not know Bill O'Reilly personally, and can not speak accurately on the forces to which he will submit, but I suspect that it will require some kind of financial leverage at minimum. The people who can apply such leverage are few and far between, and have far greater concerns, I imagine, than to hold Bill O'Reilly responsible for the gesticulations of his tongue.
Bill didn't lie, nor should he have to apologize to Obama....however, he should have to admit that he was indeed dead-wrong on Obama's resolve when it came to Bin Laden....big time.

It seems to me that Bill O tried to make out to his viewers that Obama (if you are thinking of voting for him) would be an ineffective Commander in Chief who wouldn't have the balls to be militarily aggressive when the need arises. Fast forward 2011 ... now the rhetoric is that Obama shouldn't take the credit, it must be someone else like er... Bush or Cheney or desperately someone connected to the Republican Party. Fox News' ignorance is unbelievable.
I don't think O'Reilly should apologize for being wrong. He wasn't purposely misleading viewers or using dishonest tactics, he honestly believed that President Obama wouldn't do it. The fact that he was wrong about something shouldn't surprise anyone, but I don't think that alone warrants an apology. I'd love to see someone confront him with the clip, though.

Not at all. Had Pakistan been notified, the US ran the risk of bib Laden being tipped off and escaping yet again. There was no way o knowing the level of involvement of Pakistani officials concerning bin Laden's residence.
The situation showed the Pakistanis as harborers at worst, incompetent at best. Both justify keeping them in the dark about the operation.

I wouldn't categorize it as misleading--hell, had I seen this interview before the election, I probably wouldn't have believed that Obama would send troops into Pakistan either. Although, the way Billo phrases this statement implies that by "sending troops," Obama would be sending in a full invasion force. We've seen how well that's gone in the War on Terror thus far.
In any case, I don't think Billo owes him an apology. It was a classic O'Reillian dick conjecture, sure, but not a lie.

I'm no fan of Bill, but when he was talking about sending ground troops into Pakistan, he was referring to a full-out invasion of the country, like how we did in Iraq. Bill also said that Mccain wouldn't send in ground troops either. One targeted raid on a compound is NOT the same as an invasion. In this case, he has no need to apologize. It doesn't matter anyways, Obama will get reelected.

However, he should be held to a standard where if he makes massive claims about a person that could greatly affect the future of that person's life, and then is proven wrong. I do not know Bill O'Reilly personally, and can not speak accurately on the forces to which he will submit, but I suspect that it will require some kind of financial leverage at minimum. The people who can apply such leverage are few and far between, and have far greater concerns, I imagine, than to hold Bill O'Reilly responsible for the gesticulations of his tongue.

I don't think O'Reilly should apologize for being wrong. He wasn't purposely misleading viewers or using dishonest tactics, he honestly believed that President Obama wouldn't do it. The fact that he was wrong about something shouldn't surprise anyone, but I don't think that alone warrants an apology. I'd love to see someone confront him with the clip, though.
