The fact that you gave #1 to a group that ended up having all the groups in the song is lame. While it was a great performance, I don't think it deserves #1. What is your criteria for selecting the songs?
Can't understand why you would put afro blue anywhere in this list. they were flat and sucked most of their songs. That's not jazz either, since I do know what I am talking about.
@ophelia20046 Quite clearly you do not actually... I am in an a cappella group myself and I view Afro-Blue as the epitome of a big group. Pentatonix did deserve to win, but Afro-Blue was hands down the second best group in Season 3. Followed by Delilah in third. If anyone was flat and actually sucked a fair amount it was the Aires, who were entirely carried by Michael.
I have to argue, Delilah's Grenade, gosh... Should be in the top 5! Amy's face and expressions were amazing. Put Your Records On by Afro Blue should of been close to Grenade. Also American Boy by Afro Blue should of been up there... Oh and yeah... the most important thing... Video Killed the Radio Star by Pentatonix should be in first...Oh, and you forgot... all of Pentatonix's songs... All of their songs should be here. Dog Days and Love Lock-Down being in top 5. My opinion.
Overall I think this is pretty good but I agree with hwirstrom, if it were me Creep by Street Corner Symphony would be on there along with How to Love and Dream On by Delilah, Pour Some Sugar On Me by OTR, American Boy by Afro Blue, and Love Lockdown & Piece of My Heart by Pentatonix
I'm really missing ''Let's get it on'' (Pentatonix) and ''Midnight train to Georgia'' (Dartmouth Aires)! That would be my top 2! But hey, this is your choice so...
I agree with most of your choices, except if it were up to me, I wouldve put vocal point at 15, (if on the list at all) dartmouth aires higher on the list, and committed higher. I cant argue with your Pentatonix choice since every one of their performances were so good, any of them could be considered their best.
I think you have great taste, but honestly it was so hard this year. I would buy albums from every group that appeared. I am really glad I wasn't a judge.
I've been watching your SO videos for so long... I think you've earned the right to pick your favorites and put them in a video. Thanks for everything, mrduckbear!
I thought Season 2's "I've Got the Music in Me" was pretty awesome. Yeah it was a compilation of all of the groups, but it was still a good performance :p
The first thing I must think is that you never watched "ALL" the episodes as you have skipped some massive songs. Even limiting it to 1 per group (which is insanely hard to do) is no excuse. Putting Committed's Apologize at #10 is just wrong on 2 points. 1 it was not their best song and 2 way beter than #10 if it had to be ranked.
Won't spoil it anymore but your choices for each of the groups seems really off except for Delilah and Pentx (so many good ones by Pent it's a hard choice hehe).
Well this list is your opinion of course, but I would argue for Jerry and for the Whiffenpoofs... especially above Afro blue and Voices of Lee. Those two entries I don't think should have been in the top at all, and the So Cal one is... questionable v.v I'm not sure if I'd argue against it but "Grenade" by Delilah was definitely better (in my opinion I guess). Still, I don't think your list was bad. For the Backbeats I would have picked "Landslide" though.
No No No. Fix You should not even be #1, maybe in the top 5, but never #1. The #1 song should have been "Love Lockdown" from Pentatonix. And another thing, Why was Kinfolk 9 on the list? They should have never been on there (the list or the show) to begin with. Although I do admit that the "Let it Be" was good, it didn't get them out of their hole from the "Pricetag" the put on themselves. Urban Method should have had either "Poison" or "Just Can't Get Enough" instead of "Airplanes." To be cont.
I'm guessing you intentionally did only one song per group.
I would have changed a couple. Urban Method - Poison instead of Airplanes. Backbeats - Landslide instead of Firework. Pentatonix - Dog Days. SCS - Down on the Corner. And a couple others.
Also, Jerry Lawson wasn't my favorite group, but that list NEEDED House of The Rising Sun.
Not bad. Tough to put together. IMO Season 1 can't touch Seasons 2 and 3. Other than the 4 Season 1 performances, can't argue with your picks. Would replace with Street Corner Symphony "Creep", Backbeats "Landslide", Groove for Thought "Cooler than Me", and Pentatonix "Love Lockdown" or "Spears Medley".
After hearing all of those, hearing Pentatonix (for the billionth time) gives me the same feeling you get after trying on a million different peices of clothing, and putting back on your favorite pair of jeans ;)
@iLeaveYouWithHugs So you're saying only Pentatonix should be on the list? I agree! Video Killed The Radio Star has to be first. And the other songs can fall in whatever order, but Dog Days being second and Love Lock-Down being third. But Delilah's Grenade should be on there with Afro Blue's American Boy and Records On.
@plonker2471 that was my favorite performance of all Sing Off performances UNTIL Pentatonix. Makes it kinda cool that Scott Hoying was singing in the SoCals until he formed Pentatonix!
@josephvitug Yes, not at the time of the SoCal VoCals stint on The Sing Off. I was after that - he was a member until he dropped out to form Pentatonix.
@PandoraWoozle yeah... Totally wrong information there. None of them were ever on the Sing Off. I've been stalking Pentatonix since the Sing Off began. Sooo not true! Pentatonix, before it was even named, started as a trio with Kirstin, Scott, and Mitch. In highschool they sang the three of them. When they were invited to the Sing Off, they decided they needed a bass and beat boxer. They found Kevin online, and Avi through a friend.
Great job man. Obviously everyone has disagreements about favorite/best songs, and its almost impossible to make an objective list, but hearing all these performances again made me smile. I had forgotten just how great "Fix You" was and how much it moved me.
@Sevendust9227 dude totally agree with u i unfotunetly was only introduced to this show towards the end of the last season and man did i miss a lot.... i almost cried at "fix you" whoa
We sometimes disagree on grades and performances, and I would've picked a different list than this, but I love the work you do in putting all these great performances up on YouTube so we can all enjoy them again and again, making our own list of Favorites!!!
IMHO These are my top 10: 1) A Change Is Gonna Come - Afro Blue 2) This Love - Committed 3) Dog Days Are Over - Pentatonix 4) Landslide - Backbeats 5) Creep - Street Corner Symphony 6) Who Medley - Beezlebubs 7) Queen Medley - Dartmouth Aires 8) House Of The Rising Sun - Jerry Lawson and Talk Of The Town 9) Down - NOTA 10) Need You Now - Afro Blue
In my opinion, these are the best songs by each group: Dog Days are Over (PTX), I Believe I can Fly - Fly MAshup (AB), All of the Lights (UM), Queen Medley (DA), Grenade (Delilah),
i really do appreciate you doing these montages and videos of the sing off as i love the show, and i do respect your opinion but i just dont know how you didnt include Pentatonix's "Let's Get It On" and Committed's "Let's Stay Together"
The Dartmouth Aires Queen Medley cuts off before he's done. I loved when the backbeats sang Love Shack they killed it and Street Corner's Symphony's version of Creep to this day STILL gives me goose bumps. Great Jobs with the videos.
I was sitting here watching and getting madder because you hadn't featured my second favorite group (after Pentatonix) and low and behold - they were No. 1!!! There was really A LOT to choose from! Thanks and good job!!
I thought "Lets Get It On" was better fit for number 2.. But understandable.. Its your personal views and favorites.. Thanks for the uploads.. Is there chance for a Pentatonix Playlist?!? Puh please.
