  • I am still amazed that the producers were able to cast so many A-list actors to make a guest appearance as a bat-villain. These people were all very famous back in the 60's. Otto Preminger, Tellullah Bankhead, Ethel Merman, Cliff Robertson, Van Johnson, Liberace to name just a few, were already Hollywood legends by then.

  • Wasn't there Marsha, Queen of Diamonds? Season 2 episode 23/24.

    Thanks again!

  • Marsha is in there.

  • Frank Gorshin ROCKS!!

  • Outstanding compilation but the music needs to be dialed down a bit. It gets a bit obnoxious after a while. A few of these characters I'd totally forgetten about. I loved watching the show as a kid. Eartha Kitt's Catwoman and Frank Gorshin's Riddler are still my favorites. Egghead's puns got to be a little eggcrusiating. Couldn't stand King Tut.

  • Thanks Dude...unfortunately, there's nothing i cna do about the so called loudness of the background music without uploading the whole video up all over again. I tried the best i could at the time. thanks for the kind words. I loved King Tut and Egghead though, and couldn;t stand Eartha Kitt's Catwoman. They should gotten Lee Meriwhether to take up the role in the third season since she did a great movie in the movie...

  • @madahad9 I think Julie Newmar (the original Catwoman) was the best... and thought there should have been more of the Mad Hatter.

  • The Joker, The Penguin and Riddler all the way and the BEST'S characters ever for me!!!!

  • I heard False Face was suppose to be Two-Face and Two-Face was going to be played by Clint Eastwood.

  • totally different character

  • @3dartistguy Yea I know there different characters but originally Two-Face was suppose to be in these series but they created False Face instead and Harvey Dent was going to be a news reporter who gets a television exploded in his face.

  • i guess but maybe the make up was too gross for tv viewers at the time. I liked the idea for False face, a character that can change his appearance in the slightest...

  • @3dartistguy Yup I believe was why too lol. A shame though because Clint Eastwood was already signed on and ready to play Two-Face but then they cut him. Guess they didn't look at the character hard enough before picking an actor. And having Harvey being a news reporter instead of a DA sounds right for him in this show in my opinion.

  • i don't know about Clint Eastwood...he wasn't a major star at that point...the producers only went for the major stars back then for the villian roles which was part of the appeal of the series...if they went with the two-face character, why wouldn't they have just gone with the actor who played Falce Face?

  • @3dartistguy

But didn't Eli Wallach (Tuco) of "The Good The Bad and The Ugly" fame play Mr. Freeze at some point? And he didn't join in till the 3rd Dollar movie so Eastwood would have had some momentum going on at the time. Maybe he palled a J. Chan and didn't play a villain in fear of being typecast.

  • Catwoman was the greatest aspect of this show. Next to Barbara Gordon you couldn't help but fall for her every time she appeared...

  • @palpatine17 Julie Newmar = my first turn on...

  • In an Entertainment Weekly book on great TV shows that featured Batman of the sixties, Two Face was never on the series due to censor beliefs Two Face would be too scary for kids. Two Face was set to be a duality obsessed criminal once a television news reporter disfigured in an explosion out for revenge. The actor set to play Two Face, a young Clint Eastwood.

  • I like the King Tut villian.

It's too bad he's not in the comics.

  • My favorite part of this series was when Aunt Harriet popped a gun on Liberace!

  • Even after all the adaptions there's still no better Penguin then Burgess Meredith

  • Does anyone know the names of the all these actors and actresses?

  • Yes, Archer was played by Art Canary, Bookworm aka Roddy McDowwall, Black Widow aka Tallaulah Bankhead, Catwoman, Julie Newmar, Lee Meriwether, Eartha Kitt; Chandel aka Liberace, ClockKing aka Walter Slezak, Nora Clavicle Ida Lupino, Col Gumm Roger C Carmel, Egghead Vincent Price, False Face/Malachi Throne, Green Hornet Van Williams, Joker Cesar Romero, King Tut Victor Buono, Louie the Lilac Milton Berle, Lord Phfogg Rudy Valliee, Lady Peasoup, Glynnis Johns, Lola Lasanga Ethel Merman, etc...

  • @mohinderbauer There are too many to name, but if there is someone you're not sure who they are, let us know. So many of them were so popular in the 60's and 70's and even before. I always forget that Maurice Evans was on Batman. Tallulah Bankhead is in a Lucy and Desi Comedy Hour episode, and she's hysterically funny. If you get a chance to watch it, you'll enjoy it!

  • Really this show have alot of female villains

  • both of Samantha parents from bewitched appeared in batman!

  • I really like this video but your comments on the Jack kennedy wasa friend of mine video are annoying and not really related to the video. please stop.

  • I'll stop when they quit denying Ronald Reagan created 21 million jobs with his tax cuts and that the economy slumped when Bush Senior went along with the Spendocrats and rasied taxes.

  • That was fun! :-)

  • I don't like the black cat women

  • @TheAustnod that was played by Ertha Kit. I actually thought she was very cool.

  • @starquant Ya well, cat women's not black

  • @TheAustnod who cares and that's my point. Think outside the square. The producers thought so, so why can't you?.

  • She was only filling in for Julie Newmar who was off filming a movie at the time. She was far superior to Kitt.

  • @starquant becase cat womens not black

  • Eartha Kitt ws only filling in for Julie Newmar who was busy filming McKenna's Gold.

  • @3dartistguy Ya well, cat womens not black

  • you've said that multiple times...are you a racist or something?

  • @3dartistguy no but they should stick to the comics becase cat womens not black

  • For the LAST TIME, Eartha Kitt WAS FILING IN FOR JULIE NEWMAR WHO WASN'T AVAILABLE AT THE TIME! you must be retarded or something not to comprehend that or a racist. and the reason why made upo a lof of the villains was because they really didn't have a lot of good villians available since the comic book had steered clear of featuring villians i the 1950s.. Killer Moth? Please

  • @3dartistguy I like the killer moth, but dude i was just messing with you shes pretty cool :)

  • @TheAustnod Cat Woman had three incarnations ( if I remember correctly)... I'm sorry you don't like Ertha Kit, personally she was always my favorite. The color of the actor is irrelevant, I hope you can get past that.

  • @starquant I thout i told you she was cool?, i guse you didnt read it

  • @TheAustnod no probs... Did you notice the trouble we caused? It's really sad and I'm sorry i ever said anything.

  • @starquant Ok

  • It's simple... We kill the Batman.

  • I like Pussy.........cat

  • Why don't they use some of these villians in the newer movies? Mad Hatters, Clock King, Siren, Archer, Bookworm, Black Widow, Egghead, false-face, King Tut, Louie the Lilac, Lord Marmaduke Ffogg, and others. Have you noticed that the batphone now rarely makes an appearance they are getting rid of some of the original things.

  • Maybe its because Clock King, Siren, Archer, bookworm, Black Widow, Egghead, false face, King Tut, Louie the Lilac and others were made for tv villians...Adam West lamented that they should have used villians from the comics like the Mothman, Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee, the Getaway Genius. Two Face, Signal Man and others..but right now, the producers of the new Batman movies are trying to stay far away from any aspects of the tv series as possible unfortunately. I always liked the Batpoles...

  • @3dartistguy Sometimes orginiality is not bad. Some of these villians can be serious in many ways. No Batpoles, no Batphones, nothing like that. I would find it simpler to call him then release a signal on some circumstances.

  • @3dartistguy You never really see Signalman, Kite Man, Polka-Dot Man, and villians like the Penny Plunderer are for some reason forgotten.

  • Kite man?: Polka dot man Penny Plunderer?

  • @3dartistguy They are batman villians look them up.

  • I did...and I thought the made for tv Batman villians like Minerva, Nora Clavicle, Dr Cassandra, Lola Lasanga, Siren, Louie the Lilac, Lord Phogg, Puzzler, Black Widow were lame!

  • @3dartistguy But weapons like the Siren's siren and Lord Phogg's fog pipe worked great in these shows so why can't they act the same in modern shows and movies.

  • I'll give ya the Siren's stunning song, but not Lord Fphogg's pipe...its too bad they didn't do Catman the villian who had nine lives and Two Face. I also heard in West's book that Robert Kennedy wanted to do a window pop up as Attorney General even though he was a senator at that point. Nora Clavicle was lame with all the legions of exploding mice...Dr Cassandra's 'cameoflage" pills had potential, but Minerva was a lame villaness, so was Lola Lasanga...

  • these are the villians that appeared in the tv series...not the comic. the tv series...and i don't think villains like the Getaway Genius or Tweedledum and Tweedledee are any better villians than King Tut, Shame, Minstrel, Louie the Lilac or Shame.

  • @3dartistguy Interesting that Adam West thought they should have used some villains from the comic, Two Face would have been interesting although having a character with massive facial scaring and a split personality complex on the Batman show might have been a trick for a kid friendly show like the Adam West series, although they've managed the same character just fine on Batman The Animated Series.

  • I never did cre for the TwoFace character....what sort of signal does it send out that someone who is ugly and deformed has to turn to crime? I think killer moth might have made for an interesting villian, and maybe Tweedledum and Tweedledee, but not the Penny Plunderer, Kite Man, Calender Man, or Getaway Genius...ugh...maybe hte Cat-Man might have been interesting, or even the King of the Cats-Catwoman's brother..

  • @3dartistguy I'm not sure it sends that kind of a message anymore than that does the concept of Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde or some of Dick Tracy's most memorable villains Flat Top, Prune Face etc, those were two of the main influences for Bill Finger & Jerry Robinson when they created Two Face.

  • @3dartistguy Anyways Two-Face has always been one of my favorite 'tragic' Batman villains especially the way Bruce Timm & Paul Dini portrayed him in BTAS, so we'll probably have to agree to disagree on him.

  • I just don't care the message it sends out that people who are ugly must turn to crime....the villians of Dick Tracy were the same way because they were created back in the 1930s when such kind of two dimensional values were prevlent. now we have learned the virtues of content of charater and tolerance for other's differencies. the only character that they even came close to was maybe False Face but he was a villian of many different disquieses.

  • @3dartistguy Well you pretty much would cross out the entire Batman rouges gallery,

The Joker X Two-Face X Clayface X The Penguin X Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum X The Scarcrow X except maybe for Catwoman and Ras Al Ghul I guess.

  • The Penquin was under the delusion he was good looking....Clayface could change his appearance at will. Your point about the Joker is right...The scarecrow have made for a good "halloween" typoe episode...one of my friends mentioned once that even Pee Wee Herman might have made a good villian had he been alive at the time...I do with the production qualifty of the first and second year of the series had been kept up during the third year.I would have introduced Batgirl much earlier also.

  • @3dartistguy Not to mention baddies like a large chunk of the villains from The Marvel Universe Dr Doom for instance is one of the most tragic and memorable villains there is along with being disfigured, but it doesn't make him any less of a classic villain second to none.

  • ok, whatever! you're right.

  • @3dartistguy Sorry, being stubborn is one of my worst traits, I really love your villains video though.

  • Damn, man, everybody was on this show back then.

  • THESE ARE ALL THE VILLIANS THAT APPEARED IN THE BATMAN TV SERIES STARRING ADAM WEST AND BURT WARD! CLAYFACE WAS NOT A VILLIAN FEATURED IN THE BATMAN TV SERIES...THE NEXT TIME YOU CALL SOMEONE IGNORANT, LOOK IN THE MIRROR!

  • u guys, batman and roben ARE NOT GAY! THEY'RE BROTHERS! batman is really burt ward and robin is ...*giggle* dick *giggle* and alfred, the butler, calls him 'master dick'. anyway, they're not gay.

  • Book worm = Roddy Mcdowell aka Cornelius in Planet of the Apes

  • why is the guy around 4:47 acting so dramatic about his hat....

  • Because he's the Mad Hatter....he collects hats...duh

  • 6:11,

sooooo props couldnt come up with sumthing better than 2 fire extinguishers attached to a backpack??

  • 00:27 isn't she sweet ?

  • 1:43 : that's Alex Rocco grinning behind Roger C. Carmel

  • I like egghead

  • 2:00 HOLY SHIT, VINCENT PRICE?!!!!

  • ZSA ZSA or EVA?

  • false face was one bad ass mother. He was my fav. :)

  • John Astin as "The Riddler"?

  • Manbat?

  • @CrashDevinator

If you didn't take the hint, this is only from the 60's TV show, to which Man Bat, unsurprisingly, was not featured.

  • Man-Bat was a creation AFTER the tv series...and I doubt he would have been featured anyway...but hey, they didn't have the "Getaway Genius" either, nor did they have a flying Batcave, or "Ace" the Bat Hound or Bat Mite like the oh so serious Batman comics...

  • I grew up with this Show I hate ABC What they did to get RID of it....

  • @kennyrr what did ABC do??

  • I love the riddlers laugh its better than the jokers

  • I love the riddlers laugh its better than tht jokers

  • thank god Tim Burton saved Batman

  • Comment removed

  • great compilation.

  • I never new there was as many villains on the show.Ceasar Romero and The Penguin were my favourites

  • I never new there was as many villains on the show

  • Music. Is. So. Good.

  • LIBERACE AND VINCENT PRICE!!!!

Batman= Best TV Show ever created.

Never ever watched this show but if Liberace AND Vincent Price were in it.... it has to be the greatest thing ever....

  • Glad you liked it! I only wish they would release the series onto dvd.

  • @teamrapturegames It's Catwoman and Blackwoman

  • 7:27 i can see catwoman's teat!!!

  • damn, there was no poison ivy...

  • Only a few seconds of Egghead?! I know he's a ridiculous villain, but he's played by Vincent Price! That alone should give him at least twenty seconds!

  • it had nothing to do with that..youtube only allows for about ten minutes flm time. there was a time restraint though. glad you liked my video.

  • @3dartistguy

Ah okay. You'd probably be able to squeeze in twenty seconds of him as it'd still be under the 10 minute limit as long as it wasn't over it, but whatever.

  • I wasn't thinking about the amount of time for each villian, I simply got what I believed was the best clip of each villian no matter what the amount of time, but it couldn't be too long.

  • @3dartistguy

    Okay never mind then.

  • Cool Batman video. I made a top 10 batman villain video. Check it out if you get a chance.

  • What happened to Killer Moth? Even though it never aired, the premiere episode featuring Batgirl had Killer Moth as the main villain. You can see that episode here on YouTube.

  • Who played Killer Moth?

  • @3dartistguy The actor's name was Tim Herbert.

  • @3dartistguy According to Wikipedia, Killer Moth was played by Tim Herbert. I remember seeing that on TV, but I thought it was just a commercial advertising Batgirl's debut.

  • @3dartistguy Tim Herbert played Killer Moth in the unaired pilot for "Batgirl".

  • There were two people that played The Riddler.

  • FRANK GORSHIN WAS THE ONLY RIDDLER! JOHN ASTIN WAS PLAYING GOMEZ DRESSED AS THE RIDDLER! FRANK MADE THE MOST APPEARANCES AS THE RIDDLER. ASTIN ONLY MADE ONE BECAUSE FRANK WASNT AVAILABLE. UGH, WHO CARES ANYWAY?

  • @3dartistguy If someone is going to go to all the trouble of piecing together all the people that played villains then what's the harm in doing it right?

  • @3dartistguy Frank Gorshin will ALWAYS be the one TRUE Riddler.

  • 8:09 didnt Shame steal the Batmobile and have hot chicks in it?

  • OH @ 1:50 Moe Green from GFPT1, P.S. they dont make show like this anymore, TV is borning now...

  • why do you make the music so loud relative to the voice?????

  • I swear I saw Poison Ivy on an episode as a kid. Guess not.

  • NOPE

  • There was smillar character called Louie the Lilac, but no Poison Ivy

  • Egghead for president!!!

  • we got enough Egghead's in DC....BATMAN for PRESIDENT! YEAH!

  • Remember that a certain amount of over-acting was expected of these actors in these roles. I think the Mad-Hatter was the scariest villain. Something about those eyes popping from that hat. Sexiest villain was Lesley Gore as Pussy Cat. The villian who should have been in more episodes: the Bookworm. Most talented combo in one villainous role: George Sanders (ALL ABOUT EVE) and Otto Preminger, the director of ANATOMY OF A MURDER among others. Best over-actor: Romero as the Joker.

  • I know its from the old series but if it wasnt H could be Harley Quinn ^_^

  • Ah, King Tut, my favorite classic villain. Wish he'd show up in something new...

Ho, I totally forgot about Bookworm and, well, most of those other ones.

  • @3dartistguy - You forget my old friend, -heaven is filled wth the invincibly ignorant. All the best-R

  • YEs, and if the Ignorant were blessed, Liberals would be saints.

  • @3dartistguy Hey Chris!! Great, great video! -As is the video dedication to Alpha Company on your channel. Superb!

  • Yes, if the ignorant were blessed, Democrats would be saints.

  • OMG - I completely forgot about some of the villians and who played them.

  • Bravo!! I hated every damn one of them. I remember once as a kid, I think it was the Penguin building something inside a building, u could hear banging and noise and Batman couldn't figure out what it was. I waited till the same Bat time next week and the Penguin came busting out of the side of the building in a TANK !! I though for sure Batman was in trouble that time.

  • @taurnguard- here's a piece of wild trivia. Two-face was briefly considred for the series, and they wanted Clint Eastwood for the role! Too bad they considered the character too gruesome for the series tone!

  • Music too loud!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • almost all the villians are gone.

  • A False-Face but no Two-Face?

  • @DenDhur There was no Two-Face in the tv series.

  • I have the 'Socket' font.

  • Catwoman was hot

  • @CelestialWoodway And I'm addicted to my alltime love "Black Widow", Ms. Tallulah Brockman Bankhead till kingdom come !!! What could be hotter than this vulcano ? Each to his own taste ... lolol

  • I always liked the more obscure villains like Clock King or Bookworm.

  • and the Lord Marmaduke fogg one too,and the queen of the cossacks too and the riddler one also the Dr. Cassandra Spellcraft

  • what episode was the joker one was

  • what episode was the scene of the joker was

  • i always wanted more of False-face.....

  • Wasn't there a second actor to play The Riddler?

  • @KryptonMike Yes, John (Gomez on "The Addams Family") Astin. But wonder why they didn't show footage of him as The Riddler when they showed all three Catwomans and Mr. Freezes?

  • The reason is because it was just John Astin doing Gomez dressed as the Riddler and it was very disappointing performance! Frank Gorshin defined the Riddler, accept no poor doubles!

  • hrm... wouldn't it have been better to have subtitled who they are when they are on screen? i can't remember the order as it is

  • Anne Baxter is the only actress to play TWO different Bat villains (Zelda The Great and Olga).

  • This is one of the best things I've ever come across on YT! I never missed an episode of Batman on Wed & Thur nights back in the mid-60's, and I'd forgotten about some of these villians. Everybody in Hollywood was desperate for a role at the time! My personal favs were Joker, Penguin, and Mad Hatter. And how about Joan Collins as The Siren!!!

  • The soundtrack was excellent; it was just recorded too loud.

  • @3dartistguy

He does make a better Gomaz Addams than Riddler.

  • Too Loud!

  • I never realized the Dynamic Duo fought so many homos.

  • @Spartacus217 "I never realized the Dynamic Duo fought so many homos."

well... they WERE filming in Hollywood...

  • @lewistevena- You and me both! Batman is a classic character and there is more than enough room for this version as well as the more recent incarnations.

  • I wish this series was on DVD somewhere.

  • I still can't get over Vincent Price being in Batman. If he weren't a character named Egghead, it might be the most epic piece of television ever.

  • What did you say? I can't hear you above this music!

  • nothing strikes fear in the hearts of men like the terrible lilac!

  • what about sid haig as king tut's assistant where's kato

molly death in episode 1 with the ridler jill st john

  • why would you ruin such an excellent montage with such a horrible soundtrack?

  • haha I'm glad they keep shows simple now with just one or two antagonists, the joker looked very similar to the mcdonalds clown haha

  • Star Trek's Harry Mudd @ 1:45

  • Awesome!

  • holy jack-in-the-box, that's alot of villians! :D

    7:34-7:47 pwned!! lol

    8:44-8:54 indeed! hehe

  • Tell me that 3dartistguy doesn't have the best compilation of Bat Villians on the web. The man is great.

  • The best villains are the joker,the riddler,two face,bane and catwoman :)

  • @ MissesJoker- What about the Penguin? Egg Head? Black Widow?

  • Yes they are all very cool aswell :)+

  • @MissesJoker- Great minds think alike!

  • And speaking of Gomez Adams- How come you didn't give us a better look at Batman's most beautiful villainess - Carolyn Jones as Marsha, Queen of Diamonds? Theres a great scene of her taking a bubble bath and mocking Batman. -Great Compilation.

  • Ouch!

  • Comment removed

  • Love this!!!!

  • The music was too loud.. As for John Astin, I thought that he was good too.

  • 4:42 My favorite villian is the Mad Hatter!

  • ummm two face

  • Anyone notice Alex Rocco (Moe Greene in the Godfather)??
