I searched, specifically, for the scene where the lion licks Moe's feet and makes that inexplicable sound. Gut-bustingly funny! Thanks for putting it up!
This was the only film the stooges with all 3 Howard brothers in it - Moe, Curly & Shemp. Larry Fine was a stooge but was an actor. Curly just does a brief cameo: he is on the train and when they lift his hat he barks, snores & also has hair. It is classic & hilarious. Grew up watching this stuff & it still is great stuff.
Curly had a stroke in 1946 and shemp agreed to help them out until he recovered which he never did as he died in 1951 of another stroke.
HA HA I LOVE THE PARTS WHERE CURLY SNORES, BARKS AND WHERE THE BOYS ARE IN A BOX WITH THE LION, THEN THE LION LICKS MOE,S FOOT AND HE LAUGHS THEN WHEN MOE WAKES UP THINKING SHEMP IS THE ONE DOIN IT THEN KICKS HIM IN THE FACE THEN MOE WAKES UP LARRY AND SAYS HEY WAKE UP AND GO TO SLEEP
1:10 It's CURLY!! Wow with hair and he looks so thin.. :( ... and this was the only time you get to see the three Howard brothers and of course seeing all four stooges together in one scene, so epic.
@TheDoglover777 well when he got knocked upside down what they did was they had him stand on his head and fall backwards then they played it back wards so it looked like he was knocked upside down...they played things backwards alot and they also sped things up
At 4:08-5:03, this is my favorite funny part of this episode when the shoe shine guy freaks out and tries to run away but at 4:53, it's so damn hilarious when the loose lion slash his ass and his pants got ripped before he crawls away at 5:01.
Priceless scene with Curly, Shemp, Moe, and Larry all of them together. You could hear how his voice was not its usual chipper, squeaky, New York, self. Sad to see... but, it's still a great moment in movie short history!! R.I.P., all you Stooges! You guys are the BEST!! :-)
To mask his insecurities, Curly excessively drank, ate and caroused whenever the Stooges made personal appearances, which was approximately seven months out of the year. His weight ballooned in the 1940s, and his blood pressure was dangerously high.
Curly was easily the most popular member of the team. His childlike mannerisms and natural comedic charm made him a hit with audiences. The fact that Curly had to shave his head for the act led him to feel unappealing to women. This is the reason that Curly has hair in this scene.
Curly was the man under the bowler hat, asleep with a clothes pin on his nose when Moe, Larry and Shemp were searching for Ichabod Slipp.
Jules White recalled Curly visiting the set one day, and White had him do this bit for fun. (Curly's cameo appearance was recycled in the 1953 remake Booty and the Beast.) In 1949, Curly was supposed to play a cameo role in the Stooge comedy Malice in the Palace, but his chef role was played by Larry. Curly passed away on January 18,1952.
(He is absent from the last several minutes of the film.) Curly's health necessitated a temporary retirement from the act, and while the Stooges hoped for a full recovery, Curly never starred in a film again. He did make one brief cameo appearance in the third film after Shemp returned to the trio, "Hold That Lion!" It was the only film that contained all four of the original Stooges (the three Howard brothers and Larry) on screen simultaneously;
The short entitled "Hold That Lion!" was a 1947 piece made not long after Curly had a stroke. I believe that in my previous entry, I said he had suffered a heart attack; that was incorrect on my part.
During the filming of "Half-Wits Holiday"
on May 6, 1946, that Curly suffered a debilitating stroke, and the film was finished without him.
A cameo is a short, unimportant part in a movie. The person who does the cameo is usually famous and either just appears in a shot or has a few lines. For example, the creator of Spider-man, Stan Lee, has a few lines in each Spiderman movie. He's not a main character but still appears in the movie for a bit. That's a cameo. In here, Curly is not a main character but still makes a short appearance as the man who's sleeping.
This was the only time that the three brothers; MOE - Harry Moses (Moshe) Horwitz, SHEMP - Shmuel (Samuel) Horwitz and CURLY - Jerome Lester (Yehuda Leib) Horwitz (Also known as "Jerry" or "Babe") ever appeared on screen together. This was after Curly's heart attack that caused him to leave the act and eneded Shemp's solo career as a comedian to join Moe and Larry.

I love it when the porter reacts after the lion lets out a roar, and the porter's eyes get all big and he starts to panic and he goes to the window, and the lion rips the porters pants with his claw, and the porter yells, Help! Help, I'm Losin' My Mind!!!!!! That is such a funny part in this classic Three Stooges short, I laughed my head off on this scene too,, and I also like the part where the lion licks Moe's feet and he lets out that funny carnival type laugh, that was also funny too.
When I've first seen this short I've had no idea that the snoring passenger was Curly, the scene when the Stooges pull the guys beard (which was actually real) was hilarious!
lion cracking up hahahahaha moe hahahahahaha tickled pink hahahaha ol boy got his eye black went into the ladies room oh take it easy ladie hahahahaha 3:10 moe... stop breathing down my neck shemp.. i aint breathing moe then it must be you larry how can i do it im on this side you on that side shut up hahaha 4;20 hella funny 5;10 moe feet heeeeeers laughter hahahahaha
Ah Curly, his very last appearance in any Three Stooges episode. They were going to give him another cameo in another episode but he was to sick to do so. That scene where all four are together will always be epic.
I LOVE it when that lion lets out that funny laugh when he's licking Moe's foot that's sticking out of the beth the boys are sleeping in, this stooge short is VERY FUNY even if Shemp is init though.
Yeah. Dudley Dickerson was funny and played great parts in all the Stooges he appeared in. It was a classic with his battle in the kitchen in 'A Pluming We Will Go'.
