I read through the comments and a lot haters. This ride is awesome. The speed and the wind blasting into your face is really scary. It is a giga-coaster. No inversions or flips. But it is awesome.
@ottobord it isnt a copy or re-make. there are similarities though as they were built by the same company and esigned by the same people. Steel Force was in 1997, and This was in 1998.
Morgan Manufacturing designed Steel Dragon 2000 318 feet in Nagashima Spa Land Japan, The Mamba 205 feet Worlds of Fun Kansas City MO, Steel Force 205 feet Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom Allentown PA, The Wild Thing 200 feet Valley-Fair Shakopee, MN all designed by Steve Okamoto
Mamba is actually my favorite roller coaster. My former account was 'Mamba205'. I didn't mean it the way you interpreted it. Much of the general public freaks out when they see a coaster that looks like another. They'll be like "omg search 'steel force' at dorney park. it's so weird how they look exactly the same". i was just trying to get my point across to mukifurlan92.
Mamba and Steel Force are both Morgan-manufactured out-and-back hyper coasters. That is why they are very, very similar. You should also watch a video of Wild Thing at Valleyfair.
The main difference, which is barely noticeable, is that the helix (spiral) gradually spirals down on Steel Force, whereas on Mamba, it spirals down quickly and remains flat for the rest of the helix. Also, Mamba's bunny hills are not as tall as Steel Force's.
lemonite1: It actually loses it's speed, thanks to the park using the mid course block brakes (MCBRs) all the time. The brake section before the bunny hills slows the train to a near complete stop, causing the train to creep over the bunny hills. Every once in a while the MCBRs are off and you go flying over the bunny hills (like you see in this video). However, I always love Mamba. Back row rocks!
It's actually one of the highest ranked roller coasters in the world. It has some great airtime, and is just really fun. But, it's very simple. Patriot is kinda better.
I love this ride! My favorite ride in worlds of fun! The best seat is the front! so smooth and TONS of airtime! I loved it! When your in the front the second gives A LOT of airtime!
WrathOfFlame: He probably didn't mean "copy", like a ripoff, but just a similar layout. However, he should still realize that they were both made by D.H. Morgan, and Cedar Fair owns both parks.
I reccommend that NO ONE ride this ride if you are afraid of heights!!! The best part of the ride is the first drop:-) I can ride this ride over and over again and still find it thrilling!
thegame42640: I also recommend that if you don't like the feeling of falling (airtime) that you don't ride this ride. I have no fear of height (being an avid tree climber), but Mamba gives me an intense sensation of falling that no other roller coaster has given me (even Millennium Force).
Actually the back seat is the best. The front is only good on the second hill, where you lift all the way out of your seat. The back is where all the action is. You get yanked over the hills and get major butterflies. Sit wherever you want but the back is the best for most people.
It isn't the chain that makes the noise. It is called the anti rollback device. Simply a ratchet rolls over tooth shaped notches on the lift hill a few inches from the chain and if the lift chain were to break the ratchet would get caught in the notches preventing a deadly rollback. The chain makes no noise.

@Xenomorph237 - Actually, this is a hypercoaster. Giga coasters are over 300 ft., but this still looks good.

This is a old POV because the mid course defiantly stops you more and thats from riding it back in August

Yeah, it kinda looks like a cross between Magnum and Millenium Force, only without the huge 80 degree angle / 300 foot drop on MF.
Still, looks fun.

How is this possibly a copy of Steel Force?
Steel Force was made 1 year earlier yes.
But Dorney park and Worlds of Fun are both owned by Cedar Fair, and Mamba has the same manufacturer as Steel Force, you cannot copy yourself!
