A ZOOM (brand) HD camcorder (~$300) with integrated pro-stereo mics.

... No ... A Phantom Powered Cardioid Condenser with a ~1 inch diaphram is the way to go, unless you are going for a muddy sound. Dynamics simply cannot reprodece the higher freqs with anywhere near the transient clarity. Dynamic mics work like a stereo speaker system, in reverse ... The sound waves must push a relatively heavy diaphram and coil, thru a magnetic field ... sluggish and more SPL req. Also, computers make noise ... use an SDHC camcorder w a mic jack. ZOOM HD !
