I had 2 of the sa 10"s in my truck, the were alright until one of them split in half on me from the surround and it was a headache and a half trying to get them replaced through the shop I ordered them through. I'm doing a single 15" in my truck now and expecting it to do be even nastier than the 10s were when they actually worked.
@ctdv55 I pre ordered mine directly from sundown audio. I haven't had any problems with mine. Sundown has some of the best customer service ive ever seen. I did rip the spiders out of one of my AQ HDC3 10"s though.. But I didn't break them in all that well and was running a 3500d to the pair.
@ctdv55 I even went through Sundown directly when I couldn't get a response out of the dealer. My experience with their customer service was no better than the service I got through the dealer I bought my subs through, I finally received a sub through them but it turned out to be the wrong sub for my setup. After I didn't hear anything from neither Sundown nor the dealer I bought them through I just said to hell with it. I'm doing all Incriminator in my truck now, starting the build next week.
Ive got 2 AQ SDC2.5 12's. I'm tired of having a huge console. So i was looking around at these Sa-8's. Im thinking about trying to stuff them behind the seats. How do these compare to your old AQ's?
@dynocompe1990 These little SA-8s slam for how small they are and how tiny of a box they take. But they arnt nearly as loud as my 2 HDC3s on my 3500d were. But I deff love them. You wont be disappointed in them.
got the box for the 8 done, its .85 at 32 hz before sub displacement so i figure after displacement its exactly .75, tuned to 32-34ish? tested it out in my friends hatchback and its louder at volume 18 than his sa-8 in 1.0 at 34hz is at volume 28!
@popwarhomie it was off of only 50watts in his car. but in my friends truck (owner of sub) it has probably 1/4 as much output and 1/2 as much authourity in the lows. The tuning is great and sounds good musically, gets low in the truck but just not as loud. Im really dissapointed with the performance in the truck.
@kauaiboy89 Thank you :) Box is 1.8 cubes @ 33hz. Got another box in the garage I need to finish for them. 1.2 cubes @ 33hz. Want to see how they do in a smaller box.
@popwarhomie 1.8 on low power would be nice. 1.2 on that 1200 should be perfect. isnt it awesome that you can turn out a box for these 1 or 2 of these 8s so quick and it costs next to nothing=)
@kauaiboy89 Yea I need to hurry up and finish it. The new box is downfiring with 4" aero to the passenger side. Yes I love building these little boxes. There's nothing to them.
@popwarhomie sounds cool man. were gonna be doing a single sa-8 directly behind the center console in a 08 xcab f150. so pretty much can call it a center console enclosure i guess. sub will probably also be facing down like your new box, that way theres no way his kids or anyone can damage the sub. probably port back or side, maybe even up. not sure yet.
@Bryd3n Great amp. I had a hifonics 1508 and the AQ is muchhh better. Great choice. This is my second AQ amp. I had the 3500D on my old setup. I love them.

@popwarhomie nice yeah im doing a new build with new truck im looking at a f-350 dually witha long bed thinking about doing a 4th order bandpass with 6 18's with the ported chambers port being the rear window mike singer is helping me with design check out his vids singaboy311 but yeah should be getting low and loud
@popwarhomie 4 sdcs are the way to go with that crescendo at .5ohm feeding each sub around 800rms a peice. I just had 2 sdc 15s in my s10 extended cab but took them out to sell my truck to get a 2 door blazer or trailblazer to fit 4 sdc15s in. I was pushing them at 1ohm on a 1550rms 2ohm stable amp so they were getting 1000rms a peice and the coils are still copper from beating them hard . They are sick loud, and nasty looking! @twiztid83222 Yea I really like AQ. My last setup was 2 HDC3 10" coppers on an AQ 3500D. I lost my job and had to down grade. Ill have to check out your videos. Yea it sucks the SDCs are only D4 but the Crescendo would be perfect running .5 ohm. Either that or an Audiopipe 3000 at 2ohm.

@popwarhomie im only on a SAE-1000d so ill have the same amount of power, just dropping down from 2 12s to 2 8's. Hopefully it will be worth it!
