Great video. Can anyone tell me what cables you need to connect a 606 with a 202 - or 101? Its not a standard mini jack guitar type cable right? Thanks.
@twintron 606 to a 101 is just a mono mini jack to a 3/4" mono jack I think. If you want to make sure you've got the best lead, try ordering some from Kenton Electronics.
like it in the higher pitch without the sub osc. Really nice mc programming. Ive got one mc today, and I have to say it can be quite a bitch to programm, tb is much easier.
hey mate, this is just the 606 and 202 synced together (no midi) and then running through pedals into ableton. These days i've got a midi/dinsync device so i can run them in time with my mpc! I've made another video so i'll be uploading soon stay tuned or subscribe! -ben
well done! I especially like the pedal effects. I use these things, too, because they have a charakter like every other hardware gear does. I think it does not matter how hi-tech oder expensive the machine is, it just matters what it does to the sound. U do not have to spend 1000 bucks for a high-tech effect. just go an buy an old, used guitarr effect for 10 or 20 € / $. I use an old Roland GS-6 (guitarr effect) with drum machines, to give it "rock and roll"-flavour.
the elegant stuff at the end with the 202 is pretty sick. straight up acid is overdone.. few people can really pull it off well. i'd say luke vibert is the last of the acid masters.

yeah i got the sh 101, man the 202 just seems a bit cheesy (maybe thats to do with the videos on youtube!no offence lol)sounding to me but it does have the accent which is one up on the sh 101 probably has a more flexible sequencer on the 202 aswell?
well i've never compared side by side with a 101, but i've read 101 is a little more bottom end while the 202 has a bit more squelch.. and also no noise generator. Apart from that they're extremely similar
i have both and side by side they sound similer but theres a slight differnce, its hard to quantify exactly what the that is tho. They're practically identical circuits, except for the pcb layout which may affect it. Theres a couple of fundamental differences, the 202 has only 1 lfo shape (but with delay) the 101 has 4, the 101 also has env routings the 202 lacks. The 202 seq is far superior to the 101's in that you can program accents and glides, note lengths etc. Also the 101 has an arp
@benhoughton88 Don't bother mate, both the 101 and 202 are crazy good in their own ways, some people just haven't found out what the equalizer knobs on a mixer do. I've sold my mc202 once to afford an sh101 and in the time it took to sell the 202 i had a good comparison, and i have to say... They can not be compared. They are two too different machines, simply put.
Ah the 606 hats!

SH 101 & MC 202 share the same basic Osc, Filter & Envs tech under the bonet.
