In October 2009, it was announced that Martika, now going under the stage name Vida Edit, will star in the new web-based television action program J8ded, as Lolly Pop.
Thanks so much for posting!!!! I remember loving "Toy Soldiers" and I bought the cassette single and this was the b-side....haven't heard this in soooo long.....still catchy.....
great song - a true forgotten classic. martika was written off as a madonna wannabe but this song really showcases her vocal and songwriting ability. this song is so hard to find unless you have the toy soldiers 7" and sadly mine was lost many years ago. thanks for uploading this, it was great to hear it again!
i wish martika had released this on her album "martika" instead of just being a
b-side. i think she released it on "martika" in japan (lucky guys). martika should release a double or triple album with her first two albums + rarities like bonus tracks, b-sides, etc.
There used to be a fan site where you could stream loads of rarities, including songs left off of 'Martika's Kitchen' and Martika's original version of 'Blue Eyes Are Sensitive to the Light' (which I think is one of her very best songs). It doesn't seem to be up anymore, though.
Buy the CD on Ebay from japan that what i did.

coconut: Sadly it wasn't on the Japanese edition or any other edition for that matter :( It was on the Japan-only mini-album "Special Touch", though.

Amazing voice. Her high notes at 3:24 til the end of the song are just brillant.
