No, exactly the opposite actually, I just want this issue cleared up conclusively in front of millions of viewers (e.g. at a debate) so that it can NEVER be used against him again in order to dismiss him as "crazy" or "racist" etc.
I see him as an honest man, with integrity, that doesn't change his beliefs to suit his audience and consistently votes in a way that supports his beliefs. He's also not being held at ransom by a ton of lobbyists!
