  • Awesome sport!

  • ha, thats the best dismount ive ever seen him do

  • you aint lying. haha thas a DAMNSHAME.

  • thats also the best piked yamawaki i have seen him do... which is also a "DAMNSHAME" lol

  • FINALLY. someone understands me. hah

well i used to know the FIG years ago so im not positive but im pretty sure that there is a deduction for any dismounts below a "D" now, so thats probably why he does it. personally, i think his PIKED FULL-IN is a "C". deduct away.

  • As a nationally-rated men's judge, I'm pretty sure that would get layout credit with deduction for the D.

In Chapter 13, #2, the Code of Points states that "[i]f the hip assumes a flexion of greater than 45 degrees at any time during the element, it will be considered piked."

While I agree that there will be a deduction for hip flexion, it is clearly less than 45 degrees. The camera is pretty zoomed in, but I'd take a medium deduction and give the D.

  • i "thumbs up'ed" this badboy

  • It's funny you should say that because in the new FIG Code, (2009) if you fail to compete a D or more dismount, you aren't awarded the full 0.5 for fulfilling the dismount group! If you do C dismount, you get 0.3 of the possible 0.5, and if you do an A or B dismount, you get 0 out of the possible 0.5! Crazy I think.
