@Vonstuker4 4 - 10 = -6, Absolute value means how many digits are inbetween zero and the given number, so if your in a room with numbers on a line on the floor, and your standing on zero, if the number is negative six, you cant walk back six feet inside of the wall, therefore, you have to go six feet forward, giving you the absolute value of Positive Six. Hope that helped you, thats the way my math teacher explained it.

Think about distance. Distance is always positive. |-10| would be 10, and |10| would still be 10. -| x | is the opposite, so it would be -x

ok if you have |-10| right..think of a number line from -10 to 0 how many spots do you have to move up to zero...10 so ur absolute value is |10|...it rly doesnt matter with single absolutes just think of |-3| all ya gotta do is take the "-" sign away simples so its |3|
