Aprile Millo is my favorite Verdi soprano, after Leontyne Price. However, unlike the sublime Leontyne Price, she is unable to handle the more nimble passages in the second part of this aria.

She sounded amazing. I just learned of her not too long ago and am glad that I did. -- I love voices that sound like this, that Italian sound that reminds me of Tebaldi.

I heard her in an excellent Tosca a couple of years ago at the Met but I wonder what came in between.

this is in my honest humble opinion the most beautiful female instrument of all time ever. No one came close, maybe Tebaldi in sheer vocal beauty but Tebaldi had a very shaky technique and Millo is just perfection.

Spectacular singing she is best in the concert hall though. She has a VERY limited range of things she can do with her body and her face when performing. Perhaps she's concentrating completely on vocal production and to make that sound she must be.

Those who speak Italian UNDERSTAND and do not need to over indicate. I saw a Mefistofole in Chicago where she was riveting. Also the tv Aida. Terrific. There are pretty singers today who look like they are injected with BOTOX. until they smile and that is acting?

I hate most modern day singing, so no I wasn't referring to Netrebko or the new Voigt. Millo when she is totally on is so thrilling her stock movements are fine because she acts with the voice. But in this performance she's a tiny bit off and she's not doing that. I love her though
