Endovascular intervention is not a permanent solution to AAA. I have seen many previously treated AAA treated with open repair. I say, if the patient is fit enough - best to opt for open repair.
I don't know. This doesn't show you very much - the main idea behind a video - but I guess if I had a previous diagnosis it might be just the thing to get me into this hospital. I think that is what they are going for.
They cut me all the way from right under my left shoulder blade all the way around my left side to my belly button. It took 75 staples to put the cut back together. It is August now and I am still feeling the soreness of the muscles growing back together.
I just had a surgery done in Jan 2011. The symptoms i was having was SEVERE lower back pain I could barely walk. I also had throbbing in my abdominal area from the pulsating of the Aneurysm. It felt like a pulled muscle in my lower back and finally went to go see a back Dr. I had an MRI done and that is when they found that I had a 6cm Aneurysm. This was my second one. my first one was in 1998. The Drs consider them VERY dangerous when they are 5cm.
Recently I have been feeling my pulse in my stomach its pretty strong and you can see it easilyif I lay down. I feel down there and theres a large knot ( atleast thatswhat it feels like) that hurts just a little if i press. its right at mybelly button, a little above, below and to the left i can feel the knot. could it be something like this???? Hmmm... Im on an aweful lot of lovonox as i get blood clotsoften. but i have a green feild filter in sso i should be ok right?
@MetroWestMedical I havent spoken with my cardiologist or hematologist because when I asked my PCP what it was she kinda just shrugged it off , saying it could just be gas or a number of things. She didnt even feel it, so ive been ignoring it. It doesnt really hurt but the knot feels a little bigger than it did a month ago. I have an appt with my hematologist next month to get switched to a heparin pump so I'll ask then. TY for responding.

i had the surgery two years ago done.mine was 7.5 cm.i had it checked three months before and it was a 5 cm. the doctor had me set up for another test within twelve months.i dont beleive i would have been around long enough to have the the test done if it had not been for the ulcer surgery i had. thats when they found it had gotten to 7.5 cm. in the mean time the found i had a blockage with my heart. the first surg was ulcer 7 days later tripple bypass, within 42 days i had 3 surgeries.
