I don't believe you are in the optimal settings for the camera. You can make it wayyyy better clarity with changing the HD to HDFX and other small tweaks

@PaintballVideo i believe i was using hdfx. will you click the 360p button and then the 1080p button on the video right up there to see if it looks better?

what other "small tweaks" do you mean? i have had this camcorder for quite a while now and don't really know of small tweaks to boost quality besides switching to hdfx and hd mode.

@hirschjoshua I think my HDR-CX 160 or closely related, have some auto focus bug, when i zoom from 0-42x very quickly, its get VERY blurry and takes mroe than 5 seconds to adjust itself and focus back.

@hirschjoshua by the way, do i have to stay in the manual/touch focus menu and record? cuz when i choose manual and exit the menu, it still says manual focus, but i can't touch focus.

@quangluu96 Yeah, I mean I'm not very knowledgeable about the camera because I don;t use it anymore, but I believe that''s right. And I experienced the zoom problem too. I found the solution was to simply either go very slowly or go quickly in and out. (sorry for the that's what she said)

@WhatUpHater Hey, so I am now accessing it. I export with the QuickTime movie format, default settings. I can give you the specifics of default settings if you need them.

@wakaphwap Well this camera is touchscreen. You can go to the menu, focus, and then change the focus.

It's pretty easy.

hi i have the cx-150 and i use imovie 09 but when i try to export the movie i made it only gives me up to medium to export to youtube and just exporting it it only goes up to large. Idk why it doesnt give me the option to export in HD when its and hd camera. thanks

@blueberri1000 Hello. I might be able to help you as iI used to use iMovie and still do sometimes. One thing you should try is on the camcorder go to the menu, show others, and under shooting settings click HD/Set. Make sure it is on HD FX or HD HQ. I don't really use iMovie too much (use Final Cut) so I cannot provide any tips on it. Try searching some things on google.

@hirschjoshua thanks it has been set on those settings but I think my problem may be that i have imovie 09 version 8.0.0 and that version cant export in hd

@dancinghorsez Yes. I use the built lens, but fisheyes, wide angles, and a bunch of others are available. You can purchase them seperately by searching "(lens name like fisheye) cx150" and it should come up :)
