A música então..é demais!

  • musica e filme fora de sério

  • Awesome thank you :)

  • i think I met the guy my Father would have wanted me to marry lol*

  • This song makes me cry. Elizabethtown makes me cry. Thank you for opening me up after all these years, Elton.

  • EXCELLENT! I ♥ THAT MOVIE!

  • This is beautiful. Great job!!

  • im in love with this movie/soundtrak

  • Well, done my friend, I love the song and this movie. Thank you much!

  • Incredible, you made a fantastic video! Congratz!

  • whimsical. :)

  • la mejor pelicula que existes

    i like so much :D

  • You made a beautiful video:?) I just visited Elizabethtown for the first time yesterday:?) It was so awesome to be there! Such a town!!!!!!

  • coz there`s fighting there and the company needs men ..... and that is ahy i own my fathers gun from this day on !!

  • About to bring my own dads ashes home...

Was looking for this song after watching Elizabethtown as a mental preparation THE LAST roadtrip he and I will make - and you compiled exactly what I was looking for! Is there something like a universal sorrow and need for celebration of life and keeping memories of our loved ones alive??

If it wasn't this... it'd be something else...

  • You did a really great job on this, i have been playing this over and over again

    Thank you,

    Rob

  • @mibikerbob Aww thank you! :D

  • ThiS FIlm MAde me Cry It remenbered my father...

  • this doesnt sound like elton john at all! is it someone else singing? coz everywere i look it says "my father's gun by elton john"

  • @celinablack Er.... it sounds exactly like Elton John!! Maybe you're not used to his older music? He used to be a tenor but now he's baritone. So his newer stuff sounds a little deeper, but it's definitely still him!!

  • @celinablack This from Tumbleweed conection check it out

  • I hate Orlando Boom but like this song.

  • @jxsilicon9 I like both!! :) Maybe a ittle jealous?

  • This movie is awesome, this song is awesome, and you did a brilliant job on putting the two together! Thanks you! :-)

  • @amberjh3 Thank you very much :D

  • Great job! I really like it that you took Drew and Mitch as the theme for it. This is one of my favourite movies and people often mistake it for another romantic comedy and have their minds set on that when they see it. The movie is not really about Claire and Drew but about death, family, love and life in general. Thanks for reminding me of that!

  • @BSCPina No problem! I'm glad you liked it. :D It really isn't a romantic comedy at all and it's nice when people recognise that :)

  • @BSCPina - I totally agree..An awesome movie that is very much mistaken..I watched it on Netflix tonight as I was flipping thru for something to watch, and boy am I glad I picked it. LOVE IT.!!!.

    Awesome video, and song ;)

  • LOVE this movie! Not only was it brilliant from beginning to end, but it also introduced me to this Elton John track. My father passed away three years ago, so this movie and song are very special to me <3

  • Davey Johnstone must be the most under-rated guitarist ever!

  • @4rainbowed Davey doesn't play on this song.

  • A great song mixes sadness with joy perfectly!

Always finish listening to it with a tear in my eye.

  • I never heard such a feeling in his voice. never thought he can sing like this. it's a flash in my bone. what a feeling. of course he is a sir now.

a different view at elton john, ok, now I really like that guy as a musician. thank you for all your songs about love. good guy^^

  • Good video...

One of my favourite movies... amazing soundtrack... Tom Petty, Elton John,...

    Remember... 60B :D

  • i always cry for this movie and the song

  • i love this movie X3

  • wow... im not a criying person but this movie made me crie as a litle child... cya soon dad

  • brilliant job :) my favorite movie, along with one of my favorite songs. lovely editing job ^_^ its really cohesive :D

  • @lovemylittlelie Thank you very very much! I'm still amazed by how popular this video is and how many comments it's gotten. Everytime I watch it I cringe and see errors and terrible editing, but people don't seem to notice! XD Really, thank you <3

  • @783655 lol dont worry about it :D its a great song and video. it really depicts the relationship they had, and the lack of relationship almost. its really great :)

Elizabethtown changed my life, and thats something rare.

  • Thak you for this pleasant and moving video.well done and ending is very logical for entire movie.

  • This song is awesome!

  • When my father died 3 years ago, all I have left of him is his gun. The first time I heard this song it hurt my heart so much. I just wish I could go take the trip we planed. RIP daddy and thank you for being a vet. for this country.

  • Main guitar - Caleb Quaye - drums - Roger Pope!

  • @Cosmic582 Thanks for that Cosmic. Spot on! Always thought it was DJ, but happy to be corrected.

  • Superbly Done! The cuts from the movie are well chosen and perfectly timed. Brought me to tears as this song from this movie has done so many times before. Bravo!

  • @MrJkSkell Thank you very much! I really appreciate that :)

  • i have enjoyed this movie over and over and over and have shared it with many friends..i love the soundtrack.. all of it but this particular song with eltons voice takes me to so many places in my life from madrid spain to mississippi to california thanks to elton and all the memories he has given me thru my life

  • TEARS OF JOY!!! TERRIFIC

  • father looks like bruce springsteen

  • My Dad went into to the great beyondo 2 weeks ago.

    I did inherit his guns : )

  • This movie kick ass! :D

It just ended 2 mins ago on tv! ^^'

  • This song and video is very good. I've watched the movie for many times, it is my all-time favorite; i usually watch it when i feel down and depressed and it works every time!

  • @AdilHadad Haha me too. Weird how certain movies can just do that to you.

  • I just cried watching this video... my father died 5 years ago.

And yes, I inherited his guns, too.

  • cried again, thanks

  • 60b man... 60b. The song is still as glorious to me now as it was more than 30 yearrs ago. Dave Johnson's guitar is awesome... and thismovie breathed new life into my 2nd favourite Elton track. Cheers bud.

  • What's your favourite Elton track? :D

  • I roll with "I've seen that movie too" from YBR.

  • Comment removed

  • @trenawl The guitar on this was not Davey Johnson - (although he was in the band) it is unmistakeably Caleb Quaye!! Want to know who says so? Roger Pope - the drummer on this number.

  • yup yup...he just makes them sound awesome....I heard that he never met his partner bernie taupin...forgot as to why...maybe it wasn't true....lol, love Elton John.

  • dam EJ is just the best singer who comes up with the most meaningful lyrics

  • He doesn't write his own lyrics. His partner Bernie Taupin does. He writes all the music.

  • My Dad died 2 weeks ago. I miss him so bad

He had a heart attack. His name was Lee and he was 62. I am 40. I am heartbroken. I remember being a little guy with my dad... best times of my life.

We will scatter his ashes in Pend Orielle Lak on his birthday this summer.

    Thank you for posting this.

  • aww, what a beautiful sentiment

  • Thanks for sharing your story, and you're welcome :)

  • Just Watched this movie..It's my absolute favorite movie ever. I like quite a few, but none of them mean as much as this one does to me. I LOVE IT!!! And this song by Elton John is the Best!!! Thank you for putting this together. <3 love it!!!

  • Thank YOU for your lovely comment! I'm glad you enjoyed it! :D

  • love this song!! reminds me of my daddy. great song!

  • wonderful! wonderful! thanks for posting..

  • Thank you very much!

  • the best part of this movie? FREE BIRD! haha jk, i lov this movie. i thought i'd hate it cuz of all the southern kind of music in it but its really charming

  • awesome.

  • Superbe chanson......

  • this song, makes me wanna cry...

    awesome song!

  • My step-father died yesterday and my real father died 3 years ago on aug 11th.That was the end of my family. He married my mother when I was 8 and I am 40 now. This song says it all. All I ended up with was my father's gun after he died.

  • Fab song great movie.

  • the best part of e-town is wen is mom tap dances. great movie. i love this song

  • Great song, one of my favourites at the moment. Elton John didnt write the lyrics tho, Bernie Taupin did.

  • Isnt it odd.. Elton must have been an American History major! LOL He sounds just like he has been there. Thats what makes him a great story teller. I can just picture it from his words.

  • to be fair, he didn't write the lyrics, so maybe you should be saying these things about bernie...although im not trying to take anything away from elton, hes the fucking man

  • He is the man. They're a great duo, a lot of the bests worked like that - Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman is another example. One writes, one sings.

  • There's a diffrence between a failure and a fiasco. A failure is merely the absence of success. Any fool can achieve failure. But a fiasco, a fiasco is a disaster of epic propotions. A fiasco is a folk tale told to other's to make other people feel more alive because it didn't happen to them.

  • Thank you! That is awsome! What u said is true! Awsome Thank You again!

  • It's a quote from the movie...

  • I heard this just the other day for the first time (big Elton fan here). It has stuck in my head this whole time.

  • It's very catchy, it's surprising it's not better known.

  • you done a great job on this video, it is the real relationship in the movie i agree. Very touching, thankyou xXx

  • Thank you very much! It's always great to see this video being appreciated, it's my favourite :D

  • Thank You for the video. When my father died i was given his gun.this song helps me alot.Just wish i could have taken that last road trip.

  • Dark, you stil can, and you got time so make that trip big please

  • The 2nd cd is also great! This is my favorite movie of all time! Every song on the soundtrack is perfect for every scene!

  • I bought the album from amazon, does anyone know if the 2nd volume is any good? there were mixed reviews, and some people said there are tracks on it that weren't even on the film. Great film though, kirsten dunst is amazing

  • one of my fav movies and one of my fav songs...great. thk u

  • so gd! your awesome!

  • Fantastic Video. Well done and just the right scenes used. One of the best movie soundtracks I've ever heard. Thx,

  • Thank you for your lovely comment! :D

  • I'm so sorry nicknkeia. I cry everytime I see this movie, without any reason! It's just the music in this movie which is so moving, it's just great!

  • Great video, great idea, really great ending (last 5 sec or so).

  • The sepia toned bit? Yeah I liked that myself. It is (as you'll probably know if you've seen the movie) actually Jesse and his son, rather than Mitch and Drew. But I liked it because it's like, a happy father/son relationship. Drew's was strained, and Jesse's with his own fathers was strained. But in that scene you see Jesse finally getting good at the dad routine, and it's just nice, y'know? Yes, I analyse too much :P

  • Cameron Crowe is a brilliant story teller and his life in music is beautifully played out in Elizabethtown. And Cameron shares with us his life once again with this film. It hits a chord with kids everywhere. Thanks for posting this video and fantastic song.

  • More than welcome! Glad you liked it :3

  • Just want to say thanks everyone for all your comments, this is one of my favourite movies, and it's great to see so much discussion and good response to my video. =]

  • Wow never seen this movie but really seems i should..i am a big big Elton John fan and this song i played more than once and have been listening to it for years other less known songs is Where's the Shoorah also very Gospel song & No Shoestrings on Louise which is very cool too...xx M.J. Montreal, Quebec

  • rest in peace Thomas C. Marshall!

  • T_T

  • on the mornin of march 20 2009 i had a dream my dad was dying. well, that mornin i woke up from that bad dream jus 2 find out my granddad(his dad) had passed away. well that following day i saw this movie, elizabethtown and heard this song and cried and i mean really cried thinkin about my dad. true story! i liked the movie, loved the song and LOVE my dad.

  • Pra você meu Pai (Eduardo Antonio dos Santos).

  • I love this song and this film. The thing I enjoy the most about it is watching Drew connect with his father in death the way he didn't in life. My fav bit of the video is from 5:41

  • Brilliant movie. Brilliant artist. 'Nuff said. This has to be the most underrated Elton John song ever. I think most people probably didn't even hear of it until Elizabethtown. Regardless, it's amazing.

  • excellent job.

    this is a powerful movie.

    it is great!

  • Great video, great song, great film. I did watch it over and over for one week during christmas holidays...And then...school started again. Now it's just once a week =)

  • this is such an amazing movie. i could watch it over and over.

    fantastic job on the video.

    love this song

  • in the minute 1:48 of the video what is the song in the movie in that moment

    please answer

  • Drew's mom (Susan Sarandon) dances to a version of "Moonriver" ...i believe that's the song you're looking for.

  • I love this video.

    I love this song.

    I love this film.

And most of all I love my daddy!!

  • All sons--love your father. All fathers, love your sons. Get to know each other, before we're gone. Wish I would of known my father better. I miss him as well as the rest of you miss yours.

  • It's my father's birthday today---he died when I was a baby, I never met him, but I know him through my own strength. Amazing song.

  • What a great movie/song. I love the concerned but still fist pumping man at 3:17.

  • One of my favourite movies and my second favourite song in it (if freebird wasn't in it it would be my favourite)I lone the video it captures all the best bits of the movie and the best bits for Drew which help him forget all about his Fiasco also i think someone needs to do a video on Jessy and Sampson with Either My Father's Gun playing or Freebird.

  • i love this song

and this is an amazing video!

  • I miss my Dad. So much time gone by...so many things left unsaid and unlearned. If any of you have drifted apart from your father, don't wait - give him a call. Wish I could call mine.

  • very good

  • I wish I could take one last road trip with my Dad.I am so lost without him.I am 40 and I still have so many questions I need to ask .

  • My father died 13 years ago, when I was 12. I do have lots of memories but in the end, all that matters is to carry on and teach what he taught you.

  • Lost my Dad just after i turned forty too, this was the first film i watched after his passing and it meant so much to me at the time,it still does, the soundtrack is brilliant, full of emotion, your right one last road trip to say goodbye properly.....

  • damn now I have to stay up and try watching it from your perspective^^ (its 4:43am here)

  • you're an hour ahead haha. Our clocks went back an hour last night, so it should be 4.45 here now but its not =]

I must dig out this movie actually and watch the whole thing again. This video is nearly a year old - time to make a new one =D

  • I think theire both not thought of as real characters. Etown is just a metaphor for life, no matter how you screw up, there will always be someone who loves you and even if you die, you wont be forgotten, those who loved you will always remember you.

^^ I just had to add another two cents ;>

(btw I am german so pls xcuse my bad english)

  • Its alright haha.

I don't know. I like to think that Drew is like the person watching the film. I think hes meant to be you and me, and everyone. But everything around him that he comes across in his journey are like symbols for what we all also come across. Stereotypes, if you like.

  • I love this song sooo much! And Elizabethtown is such a great movie, it should have won all possible oscars for being a really good one between hundreds of high budget action/thriller/splatter trash... No greed, no hate, no violence, no absolutely useless wannabe technology! Just a great movie about so many ways love can enter your life. (And no I'm not hippie or emo)

  • Yeah I think its just a big ole philosophical commentary on a lotta things like love, living life, family, values, etc. I don't think, as films go, its a brilliantly constructed one. Its a bit long winded, all over the place and full of tangents that mean very little. But what I love is that, that mess in itself is exactly like the existence we all experience, which the film is ultimately commenting on.

    Thats just my two cents.

  • Whoops deleted your comment DonMoza, twas an accident =[ Anyway thank you, and yeah its 3.36am now, but I don't sleep much ;)

  • Nevermind =)

    I still like your video!

  • excellent video, really.

  • Thank you! =]

  • Perfeito o filme e o vídeo ficou ótimo.Música Linda!!!

  • Einer der besten Songs aller Zeiten. Und der Film war auch wundervoll, Kirsten Dunst ist der Hammer.

  • I've seen the end of this movie twice, I need to see the begin lol

  • It's a very nice composition, congratulations! And I agree, this film is more about a little boy and his father, who got lost along the way... Of course, Claire makes that cheesy romantic effect, but still, she's a character somehow different form those you have seen... And because she understands and helps him, the fell in love...

  • Thank you! =]

I tend not to take Claire's character too literally. I don't think shes meant to be a serious one-level character who just happens to relate to Drew. I think shes more meant to represent a kind of movement of Drew's thought, perhaps inspire the direction in which his thinking goes. Shes like a quiet muse that gives him little hints about what hes meant to do next.

  • i love your interpretation of the film...at times i think everyone needs his own personal claire in life

  • It's quite a nice view on her character... I agree that to him she's like a muse, wich guides him... In fact, the "musical guidebook" that she makes him, and the consequences that it has, it's one of the most delicious parts of the movie... It depends on how much you tend to analyze the film itself. It may seem a one level character, but it can reveal a little more, I agree!

  • good super good

  • I agree 783655 the story focused more about Father & Son! Although the movie is filled with wonderful characters like Claire and her mother! One the best movies I will cherish.

  • Excellent video, and good choice of song =D

Loved Elizabethtown, and Elton John <3

  • Thank you very much! This song played at two of the key points in the movie - when he saw his dad at the funeral home and when hes on his roadtrip home, so I thought it would work nicely if i extended it to a full length video about him and his dad. =)

  • I lOve this mOvie and this sOng tOO!!!
