  • HRW has approximated 100 persons detained during the terrorist program died from subsequent acts of torture. Waterboarding creates the effect of drowning, which is why it can't be done for more than few minutes. The 9/11 acts were atrocious and actions needed to be taken by counter-terrorist intelligence to stop it and protect Americans, but this does not create an environment where you can justify the inhumane and outright illegal methods of torture. Plus, many victims were wrongfully detained.

  • oh yea, it's ok to assasinate bin laden (I agree),, but not ok to get water up the nose of Khalid Sheikh Muhammed?,, people need to step back and off of their VERY high horse,, ]\

  • the ARROGANCE of these two,, not inbelieving they had a right to speak,, but in their belief they had a right to stop OTHERS from speaking,, is stunning,,

AS TO THE ISSUE they seemed to worry about,, waterboarding isnt torture,, it's a laughable notion,, and frankly,, if it saves ONE american life (maybe even dipchit baltimore students,), couldn't care less if they sent in Mike Tyson to gnaw on KSM's ears,,

REALITY IS HARD,, TAKE A BIG WHIFF

  • first off, the protesters REALLY need to think about their audience..

second off, as many comments have touched upon already, it's a simple matter to stand there and criticize a man for DOING HS JOB, it's another to truly internalize the tasks at hand and their purpose. Yoo's memos, as controversial as they are, were written less than a year after 9/11. Do these two protesters remember the scene at ground zero? Do they think about the lives of all those who were murdered on that day (including

  • @jasonjia123 the policemen and firefighters who gave their lives)? Do they realize that the people of New York City and every other major city in the United States were concerned that there would be follow-up attacks? Does all of this fear and suffering justify the use of torture on Al Qaeda's 3rd in command, a heinous terrorist who probably smiled as the WTC went down? Perhaps not, but everyone who vehemently chastises Yoo/administration for their views or their work is missing the point

  • hmm. cant hear much the audio but i guess they are protesting into something for yoo.. hehehe they're just two anyway..

  • excellent vid!

  • Arrogant and disrespectful of these little brats

  • My question is why were there only TWO people protesting against the war criminal

  • John Yoo is a war criminal but free speech supersedes everything.

  • I don't like John Yoo but that girl looks super annoying...

  • holier than thou indoctrinated fucks. spend a day outside your cushy university without daddys trustfund and see if the real world doesnt wipe that snarky smirk off your face.

  • Terrorists forfiet their human rights when they kill others. These two young people are idiots and unimformed. They are heroes only for the enemy.

  • @Jimhill58 You see, my douchebag fascist friend, that is the purpose of having laws to uphold human rights-to deal with hard and difficult situations where you are facing potentially dangerous enemies-but don't want to decend into the pit with them. May there be more young people like this.

Speaking of terrorism: what the US did to Tokyo, Dresden, Hamburg, Hiroshima, and Nagasaki, not to mention North Korea, North Vietnam, Pamana, and Iraq made 911 look like a busy episode of the Sopranos.

  • @RPenta First let me say that I am not a douche bag nor am I fascist. I am neither your friend. You don't even know me but you call me foolish names. As to your accusations about what the US did to Tokyo ect. None of that would have ever happened without 7 Dec 1941. Dresden, Hamburg, remember that it was the Nazis who declared war on the US. North Korea attacked South Korea and hostilities followed. You sir are blinded by your own ignorance. If the US is so evil why don't you get the hell out.

  • @RPenta Dec 7 1941

  • @RPenta December 7 1941

  • @RPenta Dec. 7, 1941 was an attack upon a military base in a territory illegally seized by US-that said, it was an act of war for which civilians in Japanese and German and other cities should not have been ruthlessly slaughtered by the so called Allies. Not that John Yoo and his neocon warmongers would care about innocent people being killed.

I apologize for being wrong about you; I was right you are a douchebag and a fascist but you are not my friend. As to why I don't leave.

  • Respond to this video... It is because I love my country and most of its people to leave it to the likes of the neocons and neolibs but whatever party they have dominated.

  • Those protesters are idiots! LoL Get a life! I'm glad Obama didn't consult them about whether or not to give Osama Bin Laden his "Miranda Rights"! LMAO

  • thats not a protest.... what about of amateurs

  • I want to thank them personally. For the action they took, how they carried it out, and their conviction. It was perfect.

It reminds me that even with so many monsters like Yoo, there are just as many who aren't. Just as many, if not more, who are compassionate and real.

  • Go John Yoo! Classy awesomeness.

  • Damn! She's crazy hot.

  • I say we waterboard the protesters...yeah...

  • Listening to John Yoo's condescending tone with respect to protesters is enough to make me vomit. He has no moral right to walk around a free man.

  • You have to love the "tolerance" of the left in allowing others to share their views...

  • WELL DONE KIDS!!!!!

  • give those sign holders an award of some sort she is the best!!

  • Yoo is a swine.

He and Cheney should be tarred and feathered.

  • yoo is a war criminal

  • That girl is so fucking sexy.

  • way to go students.

  • In America one is supposedly allowed free speech unless you are on the left or against the Wars in Iraq & Afghanistan &Yemen & Pakistan or if you object to the abuse and torture of POWs/"Detainees'-then they shut you down-Even many Democrats and liberals are no better when it comes to freedom of speech. Even at the Democrat's convention the delegates were shielded from seeing anti-war demonstrators etc.

  • Thanks for being there and uploading!

  • This idiot complaining that "we HAVE to see your message" should simply avert her eyes and focus on the torturer she obviously supports.

  • @jessebickeldotcom You don't know that she supports him. Don't come to brash conclusions without facts.

  • bravo.

  • He was invited on the daily show, none tried to disrupt there.

I would love to know if these activists tried to know what would be the questions asked..

    Torture against e

  • Thank you for doing this.

  • Right fucking on, students.

  • Well done. May this protest serve as encouragement to others to speak up and get involved.

  • Thank you very much for standing up for the majority of the country that does not support torture. That this enabler of and apologist for torture was invited to speak at Hopkins was a disgrace.

  • and there were actually 6 other protesters at least beside these two. two each on opposite sides of the auditorium holding banners reading Students Against Torture and two others in the seats who replaced the protesters on the sides half way through.

  • Sooo glad I was there for that. Great job. I was afraid no one at Hopkins would protest a war criminal coming on campus.

  • Someone should find a jurisdiction he is visiting where a sheriff and DA will actually be willing to do it.

  • Well done guys!

  • EXCELLENT . . confront'm often and let them know it's BLOOD MONEY they are speaking for . . .

  • He gets paid anyway, waste of time and he knows it.

  • Love it.

  • Outstanding! I only wish I had known about this, or else I'd have been right there with you. This man needs to be confronted wherever he goes with the truth - that he should be tried for war crimes.

  • Awesome!

  • (1/3)This is how much tea baggers hate America. They for years have claimed that we liberals hate America, but the contrasting behaviors over the current and previous presidential administrations, proves what we all knew: that their claims of "AMERICA HATERS!" directed at us with such fervor, was very angry, self aware projection .

  • (2/3)Without question, America's tea begging movement is all about the old white, southern power structure regaining it's influence. And the corporations have managed to ensnare our most gullible citizens into engaging ion the Tea party movement. That really is very sad - and totally exploitative of the corporations, and that sad old bigot Dick Armey.

  • (3/3)I have no doubt that people who find this kind of civilized and silent protest offensive, supported and cheered on the tea baggers when they intentionally halted civilized debate with screaming, screaming and unintelligible screeching.

What words could be made out? "NAZI!!" - "FASCIST!"; COMMIE! AMERICA HATER!

... and then they claim that this form of protest is un-American and unnecessary.

  • ...I meant to say: when they intentionally halted civilized debate at the Health Care town hall meetings with their screeches and screams, childish name calling and a bizarre, unbridled hatred for Obama and those who support his agenda.

  • BRAVO ! War criminals such as John Yoo must be confronted everywhere they go!

  • What Irony-- the jerks in the audience who were talking to the silent protesters were in fact the ones who were disrupting the event.

  • These two young people are heroes.

  • Tremendously good idea - it's a limited public forum, their message is a different viewpoint of the subject matter presented, and they are not disrupting the speech. They crafted the protest to fall squarely within the protections of the 1st Amendment. I'm guessing there are lawyers/law students involved here since arresting them = a 42 USC 1983 suit.

  • I love how the two guards just look at each other not knowing what the fuck to do.

  • Great job---keep it up.

  • nice job!

  • "We did not come here to read your message." We came here to torture.

  • Good for you. John Yoo is a war criminal and needs to be confronted with this fact.

  • This young woman is AWESOME!!! Shows how JHU and US Society as a hole, HATES the 1st Amendment

  • Fuck Yoo !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yoo deserves to be deported to either North Korea or Peoples Republic of China and never extradited back here. Just flung off an airplaine with a parachute and deny all responsibility while he does hard time in either one of those countries. At least he wouldn't look any different.

  • Maybe next campus someone should start screaming and frothing on the stage, while the other person points out that this is what that man justified illegally. Say "that man right there is five steps above a person who robs a convenience store at gunpoint. Innocent people were tortured and killed because of his intentional lies, WAKE UP! here is a deranged murderer who is so good, he has figured out how to go on speaking tours and pull the wool over all of YOUR eyes.

  • Great work. I live in Utah and saw this on Facebook. Totally 4 degrees. Way to stand it out. That crowd might have turned on you, but a whole lot more will get the message. It's hard to gauge the effectiveness in the scene of the action, but just know, it is there. Bravo.

  • Ditto: Thanks, Larry! The war criminals need that to happen whenever and wherever they go out in public. Great job!

  • Good job!

    Fuck anyone that supports torture.
