If the BBC had comissioned a 5th series John Sullivan was going to introduce more of the old characters.
Other than that, we only see Denzil, Sid and the driscoll Brothers.
(Other characters appear in series 4 episode 7 (including the Trotters) but it is all archive footage. Boycie is writing his memoirs and the show consists of 100 clips from Green Green Grass, and Fools and Horses).
John sullivan didn't sing the theme tune for green green grass and only fools and horses he created the programs not sing

John Sullivan DID sing the theme to Only Fools... and Green Green...
He wanted Chaz 'n Dave to do it (Only Fools) but they were unavailable
so he did his best attempt to copy them.
He also wrote the themes. :-)
