This car is really Japans first true supercar, and the next version is going to be even better with 530HP stock! We don't get the ZR1 down in Aussie, which kind of sucks, but we borrow the LS3 engine - we put it in a ute of course, as you would. $20k buys a cam and a blower on 8-10psi to give our ute a lazy 700HP without working up a sweat. Now we can beat those GTRs, carry 500kg in the back, and have $80k leftover (we pay $160k for a new GTR).

@TheRockStar777 doesn't suprise me especially after i read the long list of mods it has on it and over 150hp more than the zr1... the zr1 has a new pulley, dampener, intercooler, drag slicks, and intake... plus it still had the stock clutch on it which is slowing the launch times and running 16lbs of boost... they plan to put a better clutch and raise boost to over 20lbs... will see what happens next...

The GTRs run 10's are very little basic mods and does not cost you an arm or leg. I just ran a 10.6@130 and 10.7 all day on 21" wheels and pumb gas. My is 2010 running on AMS down pipe, mid-pipe and cat-back. Forge actuators and cobb tuned by Chris AMS.

The performance is about the same if you consider the amount you invest.. Its personal preference
Buy a GTR from a tunner company and you will have a car that will not be beaten... You can buy £60K for a 650bhp GTR so why would you want a ZR1... I still love both cars but the haters have something to prove...

The GTR is not a common site anywhere. The reason it's so great is because of it's stock performance and besides the Supra, it's the most customizable. It set records at Nermburg, it has better performace than a ferrari. Plus, wait for the SPEC-V. Granted its $120,000, but when your brake upgrade for a car alone is $50,000, it tends to get a bit pricey. Plus no other car, besides the S7 has ever had enough downforce to drive completely sideways at 70+ MPH.

Chevy says the Z06 does 11.5 in the 1/4 but people are running 11 flat on street tires and 10.9 on drag radials.
If you look at most of the videos of stock IS-Fs you will see them doing 12s in the 1/4. They beat LS1 fbodies and GTOs stock for stock. STis and Evos can't touch them either.

On slicks or even drag radials it would. There is a fellow named "Ranger" who ran 10.85 @ 129.50 on a bone stock Z06 with drag radials. Do a search, there is a video on Youtube. That is with 505hp; I am looking forward to his times with a ZR1. The hardest part is that launching and shifting the ZR1 actually takes some skill. Of course that doesn't take anything away from the GT-R, 10.53 is very, very quick, but you have to give credit where credit is due.

hear me out. here in colorado the state's quickest STi ran a 10.90 @ 128. i believe he was running 500whp even. and that was at 5800 ft elevation. i would think the mighty GTR with over 100 more horsepower and all the goodies like LC would trap higher than that. don' t get me wrong, that GTR is quick, but i expected the traps speed to be higher.

The GTRs run 10's are very little basic mods and does not cost you an arm or leg. I just ran a 10.6@130 and 10.7 all day on 21" wheels and pumb gas. My is 2010 running on AMS down pipe, mid-pipe and cat-back. Forge actuators and cobb tuned by Chris AMS.

The GTR doesnt handle the skidpad as well as the ZR1 but hey we got 21k to play with before you have a equal investment. Of course were getting some improved suspension and tires... The performance is about the same if you consider the amount you invest.. Its personal preference

The GTR is not a common site anywhere. The reason it's so great is because of it's stock performance and besides the Supra, it's the most customizable. It set records at Nermburg, it has better performace than a ferrari. Plus, wait for the SPEC-V. Granted its $120,000, but when your brake upgrade for a car alone is $50,000, it tends to get a bit pricey. Plus no other car, besides the S7 has ever had enough downforce to drive completely sideways at 70+ MPH.

Chevy says the Z06 does 11.5 in the 1/4 but people are running 11 flat on street tires and 10.9 on drag radials.
If you look at most of the videos of stock IS-Fs you will see them doing 12s in the 1/4. They beat LS1 fbodies and GTOs stock for stock. STis and Evos can't touch them either.

On slicks or even drag radials it would. There is a fellow named "Ranger" who ran 10.85 @ 129.50 on a bone stock Z06 with drag radials. Do a search, there is a video on Youtube. That is with 505hp; I am looking forward to his times with a ZR1. The hardest part is that launching and shifting the ZR1 actually takes some skill. Of course that doesn't take anything away from the GT-R, 10.53 is very, very quick, but you have to give credit where credit is due.

I don't believe that for a second. The cars just came to the US this fall, they're limited production, ect. So you're telling me your friend was rich enough to drop almost 90 grand (markups FTL) on ordering his GTR before hand (the only way you could have bought one before they sold out), and THEN raced it enough times for the tranny to go bad. BUT WAIT! He ALSO ordered his ZR1 at the same time as the GTR since they came out the same time. You're full of shit bro!

as far as the GT-500 goes, its an overweight, over prices pos. Heaviest stang to hit the production line yet, old ones were lighter. Solid rear, no independent suspension for 60++K. Shit a stock E92 m3 will destroy a GT-500 at every angle. NICE GTR though that shit is fast!

hear me out. here in colorado the state's quickest STi ran a 10.90 @ 128. i believe he was running 500whp even. and that was at 5800 ft elevation. i would think the mighty GTR with over 100 more horsepower and all the goodies like LC would trap higher than that. don' t get me wrong, that GTR is quick, but i expected the traps speed to be higher.

Fastest ZR1 on youtube is running 10.55 but does trap faster than this GTR. Which should be expected due to it much larger engine and torque numbers.
