In ancient battles robes are the only garment they wear usually they are naked.. They only wear shields and swords or spear that's their only defense that's why ancient battles are brutal...
@ulongkoror Wanna try outfitting all of them with armor? In the first place, light infantry were advantageous in open and mobile combat. They move fast and engage fast, and thus, they were effective in their homeland which was largely made of deserts
