  • Amazing video! Is it ok if I re-upload it to my channel, and give your credit for it?

  • THANK YOU VERY much ! You are the BEST !! I've not ever met such an INTELLEGENT person like you are who KNOWS so MUCH about the HISTORY of a Foreign Country and USSSR !! You are amazing ! I watched many of your Videos ! They IMPRESSED me very much !! I am wondering where you are getting so much LOVE, TENDERNESS, PAIN to my country USSR from ?! I bow to you !! GOT bless you and take care !!

  • @physikerin76

  • Amazing anthem, but I hate the Soviets though.

Thats how they got the supporters: With the help of these damn anthems and propaganda...

  • Excelent video for those who hate this video or believe that a "Holodomor" seriously happened: watch?v=miHw4egKbZA

  • One of the most beautiful anthems I've ever heard!

    3. Canada

    2. Ukranian SSR

    1. USSR/Russia

  • hahaha that's a funny video description. Keep your mind clean from Soviet trash!

  • @borets42

Why it's a "funny description"? It's you who need to wake up for reality! The current Ukraine works only for a few mafiosi and oligarchs, perhaps, with some luck, for part of "ingeligentsya".

Ukraine was feared and respected in Soviet times, today it's just another paradise for European and American sexual turism. Ukraine once exported machines and planes, today it exports its own people for Portugal and the rest of EU to work for a few cents!

  • @Swordman85 There was NO Ukraine in the Soviet Union (prison of the nations), don't forget that.

  • @borets42

How do you even dare to say this EXCRESCENCY? What do you propose us? That this anthem is the anthem of the Stalin's birthday? Sure there was Ukraine in USSR, it even had voice in UN, together with Russia and Belarus. How do you even dare to say that USSR was the prison of nations?

USSR was a developed country which offered what people do not have at all at most of countries, this is, quality education, healthcare. West fought for hundreds of years that!

  • @Swordman85 Apparently you have no idea what the life in Soviet Union (Ukrainian SSR) was like. If you have any ancestros who lived during Soviet era, ask them. Focus on the opinions of the general public not the certain class. Your perspective on Soviet Union is prejudiced.

Also if you're Russian, it doesn't really surprise me.

  • @borets42

Trust me, I have an idea much better than you! I'm not Russian, nor Ukrainian, however, sometimes, to describe a mountain, you have to be under the mountain, not at the mountain. Check the statistics on what was Ukraine yesterday and what it is today. It has the same IHD(ИРЧП) of 3rd World countries, African countries, S. Asian countries like Thailand...

That's why chovinism is so important to politics, because while some people blame Russians, they don't see the real problem.

  • @borets42

Again on life on UkSSR, let me just remember you that the country was not divided, and there were not "Ukrainians x Russians" or "Russians x Ukrainians", there was one country, one people, the Soviet people! And despite that USSR had problems at 80's, it was not always like that. If you have a plane and it has problems, it does not mean that a wagon is better!

Life is not only about buying cars or clothes! Compare the "Coke generation" with Soviet one and check the difference!

  • @Swordman85 You can't argue with me on this topic, I am from Ukraine my parents and family have lived in the Soviet Union, this is not just some kind of a bullshit I'm telling you, this is what I've learned from people over the years. It is better to see it once then hear about it ten times. Apparently you're not even from that part of the world, so why would you even argue with me?

  • @borets42

Excuse me, but with all respect for your culture, I'm arguing with you because I'm assuming that, as a human being, you have a functional brain and that you are a rational person. Perhaps you don't know, but Civilization, since XVIII century, entered the so called "Rational Era", "Scientific Method" also was discovered since than a long time ago.

This, I don't care if you are from Ukraine, Russia, USA, Moon, Mars, Pluto... What care about is IF YOU CAN PROOF what you affirm.

  • @borets42

Diccere et non probare est non diccere, always keep this Roman saying in your mind. In Middle Ages everybody in Europe said that Earth was flat, now imagine that suddendly someone says that it was not flat, but round, so people would probably burn him, but they would not destroy a truth.

So, Mr. "borets42", I'm sorry to inform you, but your post is fallacious, it lacks of logic value, typical senseless argument of a supporter of the decadent ruling class of Ukraine.

  • @borets42

And it's thanks to people like you, whose heads apparently serves only to carry papahas, that rapists and bandits like Bandera and Shushkevich are becoming national heroes today. Thanks to the irrational scum and history manipulators, betrayers like Mazepa are elevated to the condition of "national hero". Thanks to your LEMMING attiude, without any contestation of what you are told to be, a country once developed is today one of the less developed countries of Europe.

  • @borets42

Hahahahaha. Really? Come to kill me then, little boy! Let me just make you a request, please do not beat with your ass, since that I don't like hairy(manly) ones. Okay? )))))

  • @borets42

Congratulations, another neonazi just revealed his true face!

  • @borets42

Do not forget that today, under capitalism, Ukraine, which once launched men to the space, is now a 3rd World Country, with one of the worse HDI(ИРПЧ) of Europe and the worst of Eastern Europe.

Youth is something nearly lost, they are not educated under socialist values, but under alcohol(under 18 even), drugs and TV, under selfish values and not rarelly even under NAZI values. The country is nearly divided today.

Think twice before making fun of this video!

  • I love female sniper

  • hetmans1

Who for example? You are wrong. Anyone Ukrainian writer didn't kill or deport to Siberia. NKVD in Ukraine consists of Ukrainians, Russians aren't guilty in that. Sowiet Power in Ukraine approved Ukrainians Shors, Parhomenko, Bozhenko and other. Russians and Ukrainians are fraternities people. I am from Ukraine and i speak that

  • Best regards to those who give me negatives before even beginning to understand my comments.

  • I think many folks here are a little overheated. This video is just and informational video about the Anthem of USSR. There is no political statement here. It is history. And for all those "historians" here, it does not matter what you call a country 2000 or 1000 year ago. Most of the time the people are still the same. And Ukraine is very much a combination of many different nationalities, just like French are a combination of different Frankish, Germanic, Gaelic, Romans ext.

  • You are absolutely right! Some people here may cry, but I speak only of reality, not of nationalist fictions of romanticism!

  • Russia is English word for Rossiya - Rossiya is not the continuation of Kyivan Rus - Russian language is more synonymous with hegemony and repression than unification

  • Rossiya is not the continuation of Kyivan Rus - Moscow became new capital of newly developed Rossiya the for runner to modern Russia - there was never an old Russia - Russia is an English word for Rossiya - Rossiya shares its ancient history with Belarus and Ukraine - Historically Russian language is synonymous with hegemony and repression not unification

  • russia is not kyivan rus

  • And who said that it was? Learn to interpret texts before comenting.

Russia is the continuation of Kyivan Rus, as the Bizantine Empire was the continuation of Roman Empire. The capital of the new Russia was Moscow, instead of Kiev, as the new capital of Bizantine Empire was Constantinople, instead of Rome, since the old empire was over.

Today Russian language, a cultural factor of unification for Slavs, is spoken by hundreds of millions of people.

  • your interpretation of the texts appears rather liberal if not twisted - Moscow became the new capital of Rossiya not Kyivan Rus - " Today Russian language, a cultural factor of unification for Slavs" what utter Russian hegemonious rubbish - stop reading books with hammer and sickle -

  • You don't need reading books with hammer and sickle to see the obvious. Tell me, Mr. hater of hammer and sickle, HOW MANY UKRAINIAN AUTHORS DID YOU FIND IN A BOOK STORE OR LIBRARY THE LAST TIME THAT YOU VISITED ONE? This is, assuming that you ever visited one in your life?

Quit your nationalist parties and learn to read statistics, books or going out of your home.

  • Russians have Pushkin, Yevtushenko, Solzhenytsin, Lenin, Tolstoy, Gorky, Elena Bravlatskiy, Dostoyevsky, Tchehov, Lermontov... Authors of the most different political views, but known widely as Russian authors. If you enter a single bookstore ANYWHERE in the world(perhaps not in current Ukraine) you will easely find one of their books.

Even the most known Ukrainian authors come from Russian Empire period, like T. Shevchenko or N. Gógol. Clarisse Lispector is, perhaps, the exception.

  • Ukrainian authors and their novels are few because they were either killed or deported to Siberian death camps - tell me Swordman what role will you play in your brave new world order? - head of NKVD? stalag commsndant? or perhaps Ukrainian counter revolutionay assassin?

  • You must be kidding... Do you want to mean that since the Kievan Rus Ukrainian authors are deported to Siberia, even before Siberia even get conquered by Russia? Don't make me laugh.

I don't need to get NKVD wages to use my brains, btw NKVD does not exist since 50s.

Even if we assume that they went Siberia, Solzhenytsin was anticommunist and became famous, he wrote from Siberia, btw... as you see, your arguments don't work.

  • @Swordman85 Russian secret police force concept began during early tsarist times - when Ukrainian language and culture were banned as early as then - why are you hell bent on rubbishing Ukraine independence? are you communist? - Ukraine is independent and we want no more Russian hegemony

  • @hetmans1

The only "freedom" that Ukraine has today is the freedom to be an advanced post of prostitution, where many poor Ukrainian women are sold as sexual slaves, "freedom" to work in the most dangerous mines of our planet, where thousands of workers die every year, victims of bad working conditions, freedom to be privatized by international trusts and freedom to chose between a footman of USA, Israel or a former robber.

Is that the Ukraine that you want? I prefer the Soviet one!

  • @hetmans1

The current Ukraine exists only for Ukrainian mafia and foreign companies, the so called "independence of Ukraine" is indeed one of the greatest acts of robbery of public property of mankind history. Companies which once belonged to the Ukrainian, a people of USSR, are today in hands of mafia or foreign tycoons.

A few ppl benefitted from this system, besides mafia, the office workers, but a country can't be sustained by office boys!

  • Who for example? You are wrong. Anyone Ukrainian writer didn't deport to Siberian or killed. NKVD in Ukraine consists from Ukrainians, Russians are not guilty in that. Sowiet power in Ukraine aprroves Ukrainians Shors, Parhomenko, Bozhenko and other

  • the Russian Empire is over and so too is Soviet communist Russia - the Federation is temporary and will not last - Russia has no legitimate claim to satellite countries who will continue towards total independence from Russian hegemony - Russia must mature and learn how to exist as a decent neighbour not a hegemonious dominator

  • @staticion i smell russophobe

  • How ironic and utterly absurd showing pictures of Prince Egor of Rurikid Dynasty and Kyivan Rus - these pictures of Rus and the Socialist anthem are totally incompatible - the communists deplore monarchism and even murdered the Romanovs who were related to Rurikid Dynasty

  • You are right, the idea of the video is to show the political and dialetical evolution of the history of such country, not to support monarchy. L2 understand videos.

  • Kyivan Rus was all three. Moscow wasnt some slavery patch

  • No - Moscow did not exist in Kyivan Rus from 8 th to 12th Century nor did Rossiya (Russian is English invention) until about 13th Century

  • Kyivan Rus was not Russia - it was Ukraine when Moscow was a mere cowpatch -

  • wrong - ancient Kyivan Rus was not Russia - it was Ukraine and Kyiv was the main city when Moscow was a cowpatch - too much commie bullshit has perverted the brains of too many russified commies

  • There is not such place known as "Rus", there is a place known as RUSSIA, at least in Western languages. For sure, Rus was not always Rossiya, it was Kiev, Grodno(Black Russia) and other places. Moscovia became the new Russia because the history showed that it was the safest place for a Slav.

Look at all Slavic countries, they were all Latinized, Germanized, Catholized or dominated by some kind of Western decadent value.

You criticize communism, but remember the Kuban cossacks!

  • literature refers to Ancient Rus and Kyivan Rus named after the Rus people from Scandanavia circa 870 when Ruricid landed near Novhorod and began Ruricid Dynasty which moved to Kyiv and Ruled Slavonic Rus or Ukraine up until Mongol invasions. Moscow simply did not exist until around12 to 13 ? Century. Russia is an invented English word meaning Rossiya

  • Rus or Kyivan Rus did exist named after the Rus from Scandanavia -Ruricid dynasty was Rus which transformed to Romanov in Empirical Russia - which was ruled by despots, lunatics Tsars and depraved queens showed all early signs of developing into a totalitarian police state as early as Alexander 2 reign which the Soviets perfected - safest place for a Slav ? HARDLY- LOL

  • You are judging such governments under anachronic optics. Tsarism is a deplorable regime under TODAY's standards, but not to the country some years ago.

It was the safest place for a Slav and that's why a country with the size of Poland has the size of a continent today! If today's oligarchs waste such resources, that's another discussion, but as Prof. Nina Andreeva once stated, today Russia has enough resources to make any Russian 3 times richer than a W. European man!

  • Look at Eastern Europe countries, today some of them even say "I'm not E. Europe, I'm C. Europe", most of Slavic countries were either Germanized, Latinized, Catholicized, they resemble anything but a Slav. Btw, how many ppl in the world can speak Slovakian? Czech? Polish?

Now compare with how many ppl in the world can speak Russian! Compare how many Russian writters became famous in the world, how many composers...

Split Rus in favour of nationalist bla bla does not seems to be sensate.

  • Ukraine's capital city is original capital of Kyivan Rus - early "Russian" or Rossiyan history is really Ukrainian history, while Rossiya shares its history with Rus it never was Rus. Rossiya was created with the rise of Moscow 13th C Knaz Daniil Volodymyr dynasty from Northern (Novhorod) Rus. Ukraine Dnipro basin is heartland of Slav people since protoslav time - nomadic slav later migrated north mixed with Finno Urgric and Baltic people giving rise to Russians or Rossiyans

  • Why is unity a nice idea? If independence is the opposite of unity, then unity is just slavery?

  • @ukrcdncom

"United we stand; divided we fall."

We will never be able to unite with Russia since you are right: in the case of the Russian Empire, and the USSR, slavery and "unity" are one and the same.

  • Solkov, your definitions of "Slaverey" and "Unity" deffinately do not match mine. I will die before I become a slave. Either under Putin or Obama!!!!My grand children are still in grade schbool, But they already are in debt. Thank you, Obama. =Stefan=

  • i think the power is in unity. look at usa. there is a lot of state all have different law inside but towards foreighners they act a a unit. their unity based on the fact that they are at same continent and they fight together for their independence. why slavs shouldn't act as a unit. i now that russia don't act to us (i am ukrainian) as to a brother but may be as an exploitable people. i dont know how but we should solve this problem. didn;t we fight against hitler and napaleon together?

  • I agree with you, comrade. It´s good to see that there are Ukrainians with good sense, yet.

  • Well Moscow has their propaganda, why should we be denied ours? Ukraine has the same right as Moscow to the heritage of Kievan Russ and the great Princes of the Russ. What confuses you is the name "Ukraine", which to be sure is not related to Kievan Russ, but the name of political Institution has nothing to do with the people who live in Ukraine. To you, Ukraine is one thing, to me it is the offspring of the Kievan Russ and the Cossack land.

  • Banderism shall never trymph in Ukraine! I am full of faith that one day the Ukrainian people, aka "Small Russians", together with their Great Russian brothers will get rid of the nazi scum in Ukraine, who control the means of production, educational system and a considerable part of Ukrainian Rada.

Many of these nazi pigs in this forum are paid by Ukrainian politicians to troll around net with ideas of Stepan Bandera.

  • Who will get rid of all the Soviet scum?

  • Sometimes I stop and think about who finances and what kind of profit the capitalists and neonazi have by financing this scourge.

  • Galicia is Poland! Crimea is Russia!

  • Vivat Ukraina and Polska

  • Nope, this is just Muscovy propaganda

  • I like USSR and peoples of former USSR, but I hate how most of them have to believe that everything is propaganda!

Actually, Ukrainians voted for USSR not in 80´s, but in 90´s at a referendum in Kharkov.

Dissolution of USSR itself lacked of any legal legitimacy and the signers of it´s dissolution had no competence for that.

  • These are lies, USSR collapsed in the 90's - what were they voting for in the 80's?

USSR was dissolved quite legitimately, even surviving a coup.

90% of Ukrainians voted for Independence.

Check these facts on Wikipedia, all your statements are lies and therefore propaganda. I can see why you hate people calling you out so much on it.

  • "On March 17, 1991, in a Union-wide referendum 78% of all voters voted for the retention of the Soviet Union in a reformed form[citation needed]. The Baltics, Armenia, Georgia and Moldova boycotted the referendum. In each of the other nine republics, a majority of the voters supported the retention of the renewed Soviet Union. Following the results, Armenia indicated it wanted to rejoin in Union discussion."

    Thats Wikipedia...

  • Dunno where you pulled that crap from, certainly not on the entry about Ukraine:

"on August 24, 1991 the Ukrainian parliament adopted the Act of Independence in which the parliament declared Ukraine as an independent democratic state.[58] A referendum and the first presidential elections took place on December 1, 1991. That day, more than 90 percent of the Ukrainian people expressed their support for the Act of Independence"

  • Because at this time Gorbatchov had already compromissed himself to dissolve the country and make Bush happy, as well as because of the failed cup.

What kind of independence are you talking about in Ukraine? Independence to Ukrainian women work as sexual slaves in Turkey? Independence to go beg for money in Portugal, the only place in the world where E. Europeans(including Russians) are called "Ukrainians"? Independence to have the most dangerous mines of the world?

  • Independence to have the country controled by Soro´s organizations and lobbist western tycoons? Independence to achieve the status of Undeveloped country, as the low HDI of Ukraine shows? Independence to face economic crisis like the current one? Independence to face Crimean crisis? Independence to have the country divided? To have teenagers drinking freely and being educated by crappy Western magazines? This is not independence at all! Ukrainian independence is nacionalist myth!

  • 'Ukrainian independence is nacionalist myth!'

    Go back to Russia.

  • lol! I am not even Russia nor never had in Russia, unfortunelly... Can´t you realize how narrow minded are your posts? This is, the fact that I study history by serious historians(not by school books) make you think that I am Russian... lol

Tell me, boy, is anything that I posted above fake? We don´t need Russian books to confirm that, just check statistics, even those provided by UN, Ukraine lost with the mythic "independence" and will keep losing as a 3rd World country.

  • Please post your sources

  • If you re-read my post you will see my sources.

But don´t worry, next year Ukraine may reach the "development index", since they added 6 slots this year to save Russia from undeveloped index, because thanks to Mr. Putin and Mr. Medvedev, Russia is getting HDI lower than 3rd World countries. As it may loose more positions, they may add more 6 slots for "developed countries list", and then include Ukraine ;)

  • Get lost.

  • The dissolution lacked of legitimacy, since USSR was a FEDERATION, not a CONFEDERATION. Constitution of USSR admited the possibility of dissolving of the country, but since it was aproofed by all of republics.

The betrayers who signed the dissolution of USSR had no legal powers for that, they knew it, and that´s why they did it only 40Km from Polish borders, where they could go if Gorby changed his mind.

As A. Lukashenko well said, the government should have imprisioned them with Alfa troops.

  • Comment removed

  • The coup against Gorbatchev was the best thing that happened in 1991, since he was selling the country.

During Gorby Era several incidents happened in several parts of the country and Soviet brothers were launched against Soviet brothers.

The new generation stopped to be educated by the Soviet state and became educated by stupid US movies and songs, Riga OMON fired against Estonian servicemen... country became disordered. Troops were withdrawn from Afghanistan to make Reagan happy.

  • That's a pretty pathetic attempt at revisionist history, trying to piece together some sort of excuse for the crumble of a pathetic empire.

  • That´s not a revision of history, that´s history out of your school books. Actually, YOU CAN´T LEARN HISTORY BY SCHOOL BOOKS, that´s for nerds, brainless and stupid people, be it a Brazilian, Ukrainian, Swedish or Russian book.

I am proud of being a person who always contested teachers during history classes and thus earned respect.

Most of these people who claim these fascist ideas in Ukraine are people lacking of any literature, who never readed Rosseau, Marx or Montesquieu.

  • or Pravda.

  • What´s the problem of reading Pravda? Or NY Times? Or The Guardian? Or Kommersant?

As a famous author said, worse than not reading newspapers is reading just 1 newspaper.

Plus, Pravda is no longer communist, so try another one, "Mr. Literate". I bet that I can teach better classes of history to your country mates than you and your burgueoise paid teachers.

  • for those papers that existed during the reign of the USSR, they were Holodomor deniers

  • None denied the Holodomor, since that it never existed, nor was proofed to have existed, differently from Ukrainian fascists, who deny the Holocaust and increase the number of "Soviet victims" only for lobbist reasons.

Actually, caring about numbers, instead caring about PEOPLE is something common among capitalist system. The contemporaneous Ukraine is an undeveloped 3rd World country with the most dangerous mines of the world, often exploding and killing workers.

  • Thank you for posting this. Now you've proved our suspicious - you are a nut and now you will be wholly discredited by everyone here :)

  • Perhaps only by lesser and ignorant people like you, actually something common in Youtube.

That´s why it´s not wrong to say that 80% of people do not think, since the capitalist wants them to make profit for the system(not to think), 15%, people like me and a few, try to think to think by themselves, and only 5% actually think.

Ignorant people are everywhere, if the world had more rational people than ignorants, Britney Spears would never be a popstar, but Tchaikovsky or Beethoven.

  • The irony of bashing YouTube users, while you put up old Soviet anthems here. Who does the Soviet system profit? Collectivization for the good of the people?

And where do you get these numbers from? You ARE crazy!

  • Right, or maybe he is just a Nationalist, Russian or Polish most likely.

  • Comment removed

  • Remember that these cossacks defended RUSSIA and praised the Tsar as the protector of Russian people, Nikolay Gogol, who was a historian and Ukrainian made it clear in Taras Bulba and different historian researches.

Nowadays, those who hate Russia and Russians are not nationalists, but nazi, I know their groups in Vkontakte. Mostly stupid kids who think that "blacks, Jews and Russians" are responsible for the problems brought by capitalist economy!

  • @Swordman85 Well sure, there were Cossacks who liked Tsar and those who wanted to cut his guts out :-) Many Cossack rebelled against Russia in the course of history. Gogol was, no doubt trying to bring Ukraine and Russia together. But in Moscow they do not care about Gogol sentiments, as a result Tsars like Catherine the Great closed Ukrainian schools and Peter the Great simply hanged Ukrainians on posts for

    disobedience.

  • Russia is not resumed to Moscow, many ppl in Russia disagree with the political centralism in Russia, heired due to historical conditions, however, that does not justify subversive rebelions, anarchy or even racist against such nationality.

  • Moscow became new capital of Rossiya not Kyivan Rus - get your head out of books with hammer and sickle

  • If you never studied languages, you should know that ROSSiya was the Bizantine word for "Rus". The empire adopted such name because it believed to be the new Rome built by the people of Rus.

Russia = Land of Rus, so it's not wrong, as Anglia = land of Angles, is it so hard to understand that?

Learn something, RUSSIANS(russkie, not Rossyanye) and UKRAINIANS are the SAME people. None of them is a "pure people", there are no "pure ppl" in the world.

  • Sorry I did not understand correctly, which nationality we talking about?

  • @Swordman85

Russian Pravda is basically just a piece of sexist toilet paper, but I do agree with your point on reading journals. I like to keep up with a lot of Russian, Ukrainian, British and European papers, my favourite being Українська Правда, as it is the most balanced journal I have ever read.

  • Seriously?? The ukrainians voted to retain the USSR in the 80s?

  • I love the music as much as I hate communism or USSR

  • This user "donbass", judging by his comment, is closer to "dumbass" xD

  • beautiful ;)

  • OUN UNSA and UPA idiots into prison - right now!

  • Also UPA fought both Nazi Germany and USSR

  • That´s wrong. This is what they told American authorities to get political asyllum in the USA. Actually, UPA fought a rival UPA faction, it´s not secret to anyone that Melnyk and Bandera were rivals and often had some disputes, but both served Nazi Germany and US Army itself photografed 11 albuns of this collaboration.

  • Comment removed

  • Do you have any source for this information? Or is this just another USSR propoganda scheme

  • The information given by the user above is pretty accurate and can be confirmed by historian Ludo Martens, as well as by US Army archives, where you can see several examples of colaboration between Banderites and Nazi.

When they tried to enter USA, they suffered high oposition from the US Department state and several officials condemned their asylum, but they were accepted, since they could be used to serve the interests of McCarthism.

  • Ludo, the Holodomor denier and Soviet apologist? Now that's credible!

  • This video is misleading, it presents false russian version of Ukraine's history.

  • Yet in 1991 they voted overwhelmingly for independence from the USSR. A for OUN-UPA being betrayers, they are the true unsung heroes of WWII who fought both Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia under Stalin for an independent Ukraine that would never starve its people in a forced famine of collectivize agriculture and deport the hard working "kulaks" to Siberia not mention initiate russification of the people and the destruction of the Ukrainian language.

  • Where are the results of 1991 elections? What happened was a coup d´état given by ppl who had no legal competence to sign agreements of International Laws. Smart, they did it in Belovezh, so they could run away for Poland, if Gorbatch decided to act.

OUN-UPA fought Nazi just when Nazis were loosing the war, around 1944, but often these were inter faction fights. We know that Bandera´s group was rival with Melnyk´s group, for instance.

  • Let me just remember you that S. Bandera, himself, since the nazi entered the USSR, said that their enemies were Moscow and Warsaw, but he also said that Hitler was the liberator of Ukraine and praised the Wermach and the Waffen SS.

Several nazi officers point the Ukrainian nazi as great friends of Germans and tell how useful they were to eliminate Slavic populations. The idea that OUN fought "commies and nazis" is nothing else than mere hoax and history revisionism.

  • When Ukrainian independence was proclaimed by OUN(b) in Lviv on June 1941 the German authorities proceeded to immediately arrest all members of the OUN. Many were executed and imprisoned. Those who fled carried on underground work just as they did under Polish and Soviet occupations. Ukrainian nationalist resistance immediately declared war on the German occupiers when it became known that they were not prepared to accept Ukrainian independence. One may also examine NAZI-soviet collaboration1939

  • That´s completely fake, specially considering that the Inteligence service of US Army photografed 11 albums showing nazi and banderite colaborating side to side. Possibly this or that banderite got arrested for another reason, but not for being banderite.

1939 agreement has a completely different juridical nature, it was a non-agression pact. USSR never requested nazi aid to govern its own territory and never joined SS troops.

  • You realize UPA fought against the Nazis. The Nazis even labelled them as Bolshevik agents.

  • А причем тут кадр с кубанскими казаками?

  • very nice

  • You want to see the influence of the new Ukrainian ideology? Look for the word "Vityaz". If you look for it in Ukrainian you will read "The vityazy were epic knights who defended the Ukraine".

If you look for it in Russian, you will find that they "defended the Russia". Why to make this confusion? Ridiculous on my view.

  • The information should read Kievan-Rus not Russia.

  • pathetic soviet anthem

  • Better than current pathetic capitalist anthem. Are you anti-Ukraine or what? The current Ukraine ruins the lifes of million of ppl. Workers die at mine´s explosions around the country, without any legal protection, exploited by foreign companies. The armament´s industry was ruined and Ukrainian girls are sold as sexual slaves for UK, Russia and EVEN Turkey. How marvelous and free is Ukraine, don´t you think?

  • heil hitler heil ukrain

  • This anthem was forced on Ukraine, by the Soviet Union. This is NOT the actual anthem. =Stefan=

  • what does that mean? You can't just bury that much history in which Ukraine was a MAJOR PART of the Soviet Union. "Forced on the Ukraine BY the Soviet Union" you're not very intellegent....btw many Ukrainians lost their lives fighting for this anthem and for the Soviet Union idiot

  • Many more Ukrainians lost their lives BECAUSE of the Soviet Union and its brutal collectivisation of Ukrainian farmland.

    Ever heard of the Holodomor?

The Soviet Union may have considered Ukraine to be a big part of it, but no Ukrainian I know would consider his or herself Soviet.

It's easy to be nostalgic about communism when you never had to live under it...

  • are you kidding me? I lived under it...as did all of my relatives many of which are still in Ukraine. Yes, I have heard of Holodomor!!! However, many Ukrainians, especially those in the EAST do not think it was genocide and to this day are proud of what they and their families have fought for and lost their lives for..the Soviet empire...(world War II, Afghanistan, others) You have to remember Eastern Ukraine was always part of Russia...and many want to reunite

  • don't teach me about my country, idiot! In Ukraine there has always been and ALWAYS WILL BE two sides to the country's history...mydak))) its obvious you're on the western side, but we Zaporozhtci have a different perspective, and I hope you know where Ukrainians come from ;) p.s. Zaporizhie

  • Thank you for enlightening me, AJK4ever. I grew up in California and now live in a city in Israel with a high population of Russians and Ukrainians, and while I am not Ukrainian myself, I do interact daily with those who left after the fall of the Soviet Union.

My understanding of Ukrainian history, however, is that Galicia (Halychynya) was the only region where Ukrainian culture wasn't obliterated under the Czars and, henceforth, is the cultural cradle of modern Ukraine.

  • The current situation in Ukraine is therefore very similar to that in many countries behind what was the "Iron Curtain"- nostalgia for the socialist past while simultaneously whitewashing its pitfalls.

How long did your family have to wait to get a telephone, if they got one at all? How about a car? How about contact with family members in Canada? Did you ever fear that your neighbors were members of some secret police organization and were spying on you?

  • Lots of things worked well under Soviet Socialism- almost no homelessness, almost no unemployment- but lots of things didn't. Nevertheless, your people and your struggle to survive as a distinct nation is inspirational.

  • in some aspects Ukraine under communism is better then it is now, such as the healthcare, and other things, but ofcourse their were evil aspects, just like all over Russia, but you must remember that this wasnt FORCED upon ALL Ukrainians, just like it wasn't forced upon ALL Russians, they were people for it and people against it

  • Much of Ukraine supported the communism system and trully believed in it,cherished it, and were proud to be a part of the worlds strongest super power. It was an empire that millions of Ukrainians lost their lives for, and last time I was in Ukraine (5 months ago) I saw a mnonument of Lenin in EVERY single city as well as numerous memorials, because Ukraine was a huge part of the Soviet Union and will always be.

  • Just to make your info more reliable, let me remember Mr. AJK that in 1990 the people of Ukraine started a Referendum where around 85% of Soviet population voted FOR the USSR, while 15% voted for its desintegration. In 1991, 3 representatives, lacking of any legal coverage, of 3 Soviet Republics(and not 15, as previewed on the Constitution) signed a betrayal act to dissolve the USSR. They should have been imprisioned immediatly, since they lack of legal competence to do it.

  • Now whether it was good or bad...everyone has their view, and views about this and other aspects of the country is why the nation remains divided mentally today

  • But Halychynya was oblitared under Polishes and it´s the influence that it suffers today. The most reactionary movements of Ukraine praise Halychyna and think that Ukrainians came from Sweden, but they are just a part, a small part under Western influence. Some ppl even contest their "Orthodox beliefs", since than it´s clearly Roman inspired.

You interact with Russians in Israel? Haha... Israel is a country of Palestinians, not a country of Russians or Germans.

  • Go read history- Palestine is what the Romans named Judea after they illegally occupied it and ethnically cleansed it of its inhabitants. The stories of our ferocious resistance to the occupation called "Palestine" can be found in Josephus' work "The Jewish Wars".

Either way, the word Jew is a derogatory form of the word "Judean". Jews are the true "Palestinians". The Arabs who call themselves "Palestinians" are just lying, fascist occupiers...

  • Palestine(Philistine) is the land of former inhabitants called Philisteus, described even at Bible as former occupants.

Present Jewishes has nothing to do with original semitic people of Israel, they are Turks, Slavs and Germans who addopted Judaism, most of them ethnic descendents of Khazar people, an empire defeated by Russians of Knyaz(and Vityaz) Vladimir.

  • The Philistines were an ancient Indo-European people that migrated to the Levant from Crete. By the time of Judea's occupation by Rome, the Philistines were an extinct civilization. Archeology confirms, however, that we Jews originated as a Canaanite people indigenous to the Levant.

Also, 60-70% of Israel's Jewish population returned from the Middle East and North Africa. Genetic studies between us Sephardim and Mizrachim show that Ashkenazim are very, very closely related to us.

  • Also, given the fact that the majority of the Jewish population in Central and Eastern Europe spoke a Germanic language, not a Turkic one, I would venture to say that the Khazars either converted to Christianity or Islam after the defeat of their empire. There is absolutely no genetic evidence for Turkic origins of Ashkenazim, nor of any other evidence outside of the Middle Eastern origins of the Ashkenazim.

  • Plus, never start a post with "go read history", considering that history can be seen and described from different view points, according to the interests of ruling classes.

USSR provided Jewishes with a true Palestine called "Birobodzhan", a fertile, peaceful and prosperous land. But Zionism, a Jewish version of fascism, prefered to create the cosmopolitan state of Israel. Zionism is the spoil of the ancient Khazar empire which influences US and several states.

  • While it is possible that, to some extent, "history is written by the victor", overwhelming amounts of evidence in the fields of archaeology and genetics prove that the facts of history have an existence independent of their spin.

When Muslims dig underneath the Temple Mount and unearth antiquities with ancient Hebrew on them that can be carbon-dated to 2600 years ago while simultaneously saying that Jews never existed in Israel, you just can't help but laugh at their stupidity...

  • Zionism, for the unlearned among the Youtube community, is merely the desire for a Jewish state in the Jewish homeland. What it has become, however, is the cause to end the occupation called Palestine. Palestine is the rod the Romans beat our fathers with and the rod the Arabs beat us with. Would you blame the oppressed person when, after 2000 years of beatings, he finally grasps the rod of his oppression and strikes down his oppressor?

  • It´s easy to be against communism when you don´t know what is it. Famine in Ukrainian happened during 1932 due to the action of reactionary Kulaks, who prefered destroy the agriculture than do the agriculture reform, which is not just a communist flag, but also republican.

Plus, the season became really dry and hitted not just Ukraine, but also Northern Caucasus and parts of Russia, which makes Holodomor as a MYTH from Ukrainian reactionary classes with clearly political purporses.
