Horowitz's latter-day interpretations of this gem just doesn't hold to his earlier 1966 one. There's a great deal of point making and unnecessary excesses that just doesn't quite work for him this time.
@brtherjohn Im sorry, but I emphatically do not agree with you. This later interptretation for me is more mellow and has a delightfully lingering casual quality lacking in the earlier take by a perhaps more relaxed and reminiscent Horowitz. It seems that the often high strung tense Horowitz truly started to relax and enjoy concertizing in the mid 70s.
