I've had this phone for almost 2 years now. Works perfect! But I have rooted and flashed custom rom and works smooth and fast. If your on a tight budget but still want a nice smart phone, this is nothing to laugh at. Its really good!

For those of you complaining about how your Samsung Captivate isn't quick enough : Take care of your fucking phone and shut up. It's not our fault you handle your devices like a 4 year old. Get over it you spoiled little pricks. On a side note - This phone is absolutely fantastic as long as you don't handle your phone like a retard.

This phone is fuckin garbage! Slow as shit and hella buggy. On my 3rd one cuz first one kept crashing like once a day and 2nd one eventually stopped recognizing bother internal and external memory. This current one is just slow, ie takes 5 secs to load my contacts and the keyboard lags like a coby tablet. Gonna shoot this with a gun when my contract is over

So these little things on the front of the camera, next to the part where you listen to calls, thats not a camera? I thought it was a front view camera, you know the kind you can switch between front and back view so you can take pictures of yourself easily? I guess not...poo.

This phone is easily worth it if you like having almost any feauture that comes to mind. My friend saw my tmobile samsung vibrant and he switched from his iphone 3gs to the captivate and he thought it was the best thong he did. Android is for people who love having options and having a versatile phone. Ios os for people who use modest features and arent really power users.

Pro - purchase price, beautiful screen, fast processor. More durable when dropped. Camera's great.

Con - Lock/Power button is in the worst place, just opposite volume rocker on other side of phone. When you squeeze to lock, you inevitably hit the volume rocker or visa versa. Social net app's like facebook and twitter fail on this phone regularly. They freeze and require force quit. Battery life is very poor. Android OS isn't as stable as iOS.

Conclusion? I will be going back to iPhone.

if you take it out in direct sunlight, you loose whats on screen??....the super amoled screen has been praised numerous times for being very visible IN direct sunlight...besides, i have the samsung omnia 7 with the same exact screen and its just fine in sunlight....maybe you need to turn the brightness up

@XSpiritSageX So far I haven't gotten any dropped calls. It really depends on the area where you are. Ask people you know how their service with at&t is. There have been cases where i've had service and my friend's iPhone's havent though, so i'm guessing the antenna on it is good.

I'm not signed up for texting, but if I text, i think it's 10 cents a text, maybe 20 but i'm pretty sure it's ten. but you can get a texting plan for anywhere between 10 to 30 dollars a month depending on how much you plan on texting. after you use all of your texts it will charge 10 to 20 cents, but there is an unlimited plan you can get, too. I think they are pretty cheap compared to my old service.

This phone is a piece of shit. iv'e had it for around four months and all it does now is freeze on me, gets HORRIBLE reception and it loses bars if you hold it in your left hand. This is the worst piece of technology I have came across except for the first iPhone, that phone is complete garbage. No one buy this phone. The 3G doesn't even work for me. I have to haf WiFi at all times if I want to get on the internet.
