It's a bit difficult to explain since english is not my first language and that explaining voices are difficult over the internet. The bottom is what gives power to the voice. If you listen to a male opera singer he often uses a lot of bottom in his voice. Of course using as much bottom as an opera singer would pretty much destroy this song, but a little is neccesary for it not to sound hollow.
