It was one of the most life changing experiences in all of my 18 years and I have no regrets. I'm still with the same person and we're engaged to be married once I'm done with college. Plenty of people lose their virginity very early and turn out okay, despite the stereotype that you will feel guilty after sex and pregnancy and stds and bla bla bla. sex ed is also seriously flawed. they never mention benefits, only talk about the negatives, and basically try to scare you from ever having sex.
I agree with some of it but then again, some of what you are saying isn't accurate. Telling your kids to have safe sex is a good idea, i agree there. But telling them to be abstinent is a HORRIBLE idea. That should be their personal choice. By telling them to be abstinent you give them the idea that sex is a bad thing and you are sending them the wrong message. sex is just sex it isn't necessarily bad. America's youth is way overprotected. 18 is just a number people.

i agree with you, can i say i am eighteen i still go to school in australia, i havent had sex and i think that is because i believe you need to fall in love before you go any where near sex, how ever i see very sad things at school with 14 and 15 yr old girls acting in that way towards boys, its sad because they have no idea about love or what they are doing and how they will look like towards other people. how would you having researched this issue. what would your opinon be ??
