And with all due respect this was just considered "pop music" not serious stuff like The Who or Clapton yet it still kills anything on the airwaves today. The 70's had some of the greatest muisc hands down over any decade.

True. My point was that you can't compare even the most bubbly gum pop (which middle of the road is not) to even what's considered the 'best' stuff currently. Even The Archies are better then 90% of what's on Mtv currently. The Killers? blech!
