@DrMinion333 If anything it's a good idea, if the tempurature outside is cold enough, the snow will crystilize into ice making the fort incredably stronger around the cabde areas.

@DrMinion333 actually no its not a bad idea...its actually what you are supposed to do...it melts the first layer only and refreezes to ice making it stronger. if you made a cave and stayed in it, your body heat would have the same effect only slower, candles speeds it up

This melt water then acts as a mortar; sealing the blocks together. However, the melt water from the snow above the fire could extinguish it, and the melt water would flow downwards before re-freezing. As a result the ammount of snow/ice above the fire would decrease.
