  • I meant to say that, I personally can't stop playing this song! I'm addicted!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!! I LOVE HIS VOICE!!!!!! And what's up with all this talk about him and Ritchie? I'm a fan of both, who cares! It's music, music is meant to be appreciated and enjoyed. If you don't like it that's fine, just move on to something else and leave the negativity aside. I personally CAN'T stop playing!

  • kylieromero1's....Please check your messages. I wrote you one but I couldn' say where I wrote it. It is about the song (above) WHICH I DID NOT COMMENT ON.

    Beehive41

  • this is not just r&r this must be the very first punk recording

  • Session musicians seems as for Ritchie Valens.

  • @walt7500 Bob Keane had him earmarked as the new Richie Valens. He even had Chan board with Richie's mother for a while.

  • @Zipgunn1 Yes, but he never made it as big as Ritchie! He had the looks, the voice... Besides Hippy Hippy shake I don't remeber a thing, but I'm from holland with hardly import from the USA.

  • @walt7500 That's unfortunately true, he had no chart success here in the UK, though I prefer his music to Richie's.

Did you know he didn't get a Penny from the sales Of any version Hippy Hippy Shake until the release of The Beatles version in1994?

  • @Zipgunn1 I didn't! But ritchie was bigger. His songs were outstanding: they had an absolute unique character. In fact Chan was the spare Ritchie.

  • @walt7500 Richie was bigger, but I can't agree that Chan was a spare Richie, my friend.

  • @Zipgunn1 Your'e free to disagree! I don't want to downgrade Chan, but the pacts speak fot themselves - My Little Ruby is as Valens as possibly can! No one ever came closer, and that was the intention! The kids wanted Valens, Keene wanted money. Not a bad deal!

  • @walt7500 who are you jealous of? or are you greedy for money?

  • @pinchold well, if I could have been Ritchie Valens, but I wouldn't have boarded that Plane! Happines is in your brain, not in a wallot.

  • @walt7500 you wouldn't board that plane? you mean one can outsmart the fate? Ritchie's death had nothing to do with money.

  • @pinchold The highest goal in life is status, then comes money. Youngster are mostly without fear, and considering the conditions the time the plane left... I know it was a harsh tour, but men tend to ignore nature. One can question if winter is a travelling season.

Listen, Ritchie has been a favourite of mine all my life, and I have nothing against Chan, I wished he had more succes!

  • @Zipgunn1 To each his own I guess. This song I had to turn off because it was awful to me.

  • @beehive41 hay u better shut ur awfull mouth thats my grandpa ur talkin about so u better shut upp

  • Great voice but mediocre songs!

  • @walt7500 how many songs did you write?

  • @pinchold I'm a painter and illustrator, so i don't blame a non-painter for not painting!

  • rock & roll heaven,thanks

  • Youre welcome

  • Great song! Do you know what year it is and where I can find information about the song?

  • I think it came out in 59

  • I worked with Chan in Holland in the 90's, he was one of the nicest people I've ever worked with and the sanest of the old rockabilly/rock'n'roll singers that I've ever met.

  • Who plays that distinctive guitar on all those Del-Fi tracks? Is it Ritchie Valens? Or is it the bass that is so distinctive in all those Ritchie Valens tracks.

BTW this is a great track. It opens with guitar, then it seems like a second rhythm section comes in!

  • THANKS-fantastic :):):)

  • That's Rene Hall playing the danelectro baritone guitar. He also arranged and played on most of the Ritchie Valens recordings. Bob Keane used most of the same musicians that had recorded with Ritchie for Chan.

  • Ive been into 50's rock n roll for 30 years and I still keep discovering new gems.Love it !

  • A pure Rock'n Roll

  • Perfect in every way,and listen to the drummer having a blast.

  • Great little rocker, love that guitar work.
