@kevinherbert I mean't that "his kids seem to love him" ..That means that however evil a man can be, you can always say that someone must "love " him..Maybe I'm overstating the case..Comparing Mel,Osama and Cheney is a bit hyperbolic and certainly not my intent..I just knew Mels music director and he was not complimentary to say the least..

@satziebaby : are you talking aout his MD Marty Paich?...who in hell are you quoting as saying Mel was evil...Donny Osborne said Mel was a perfectionist & could be a bit of a prick, who didn't accept second best....all gr8 artists have their idiosyncrasies.

I knew some guys who met him as part of a house band, and who he took under his wing to show them some of his experience...a really lovely guy...so there you have a couple of views of the gr8 Mel T....a genius 4 sure...
