Having not played the game, how often do you come across a tornado?

to the best of my knowledge, its never used ingame, but it is in the sandbox editor, so you can spawn one if you have the will to do so.

There are some in one level near the end but they're more for scenary/atmosphere and don't ever play a large part in the game.

On the particular level you are in a flying vehicle and can fly into them and get sucked into them but they're too distant to pose a real threat.

There's a Sandbox editor that's included, you create/edit levels with it but you're free to jump in game at any time and mess around with stuff.

It's included with the demo of Crysis so download that and check it out before you buy it.

Personally it's what I bought Crysis for, the singleplayer campaign and multiplayer game were just bonuses for me and a lot of people.

The Fujita scale only measures how much a tornado destroys, not how powerful it is. A weak tornado in a shanty town would thus be called an F5.

HAHA ACTUALLY NO The Fujita Scale measures how fast the tornado spins. 217-350 or whatever is considered an F5. A weak tornado is considered F1. You cant measure scales of tornadoes by how much they destroyed. Example, dust devil blew up my GI Joe camp that considered F5? lol

actually, you are wrong. The fujita scale indeed is measured on how much damage it made, based on readings by the national weather center. It has since been replaced by the ENHANCED fujita scale, which is computed by wind speed.

wow... need to get myself a better video card, i mean the graphics look OMG, for 512 mb (i know you scaled it down but medium looks like high some aspects).

how do you go in thirdperson? is it a sandbox thing?

It's a devmode thing, which is on by default in sandbox but can be enabled in single player by putting "-devmode" (without quotes) at the end of the target line in the game's shortcut properties.

Then press F1 to change to third person, aswell as F3 to fly, F4 for god mode and num1 for guns and ammo.

There's much more stuff too like . to pause physics, they could probably be found easy by googling.

this type of video work gets me excited for what people can do with AMV videos...i was thinking a twister remake lol. I was already excited for the type of maps that would come out of it. BTW try setting upward lift to 10,000 and then set a bunch of red barrels right under the tornado...fun times.I had 200 some red barrels and 100 Humvees and it created an awesome swirling explosion.

One suggestion though, why not a stack of flameable barrels instead of normal ones, then let the tornado take them and shoot one in the air, and BOOOOMM xD

Well the thing about explosions is that if your performance is low, when something is caught in an explosion it just dissapears instead of flying around and killing your PC.

Before I was playing with tornadoes I was playing with stacking barrels and was using grenades, rockets or one explosive barrel to send them flying, but if I used too many barrels they'd just dissapear.

However tornadoes would pick them all up and keep them moving and it looked very pretty so I made this video!

I cut this video down from it being too long, boring and repetitive; once I'd shown these clips there's not much else to show.

I agree it ends just as it seem to get going but I feel it was better than my initial edit.

Not too long because of the copy feature (ctrl + c) all I had to do was spawn so many barrels along the Y axis, then the X axis and then copy the Y line to the end of the X line and vice versa so it's a box, then copy the box and paste vertically a few times.

I just compared this to the graphics of Castle Wolfenstein from 1992. It is unfreaking-believable how much progress has been made in the technology department since then. Hard to imagine what games 15 years in the future will look like. More real than reality I guess...
