  • I guess, I still need to practice more.

  • This music reminds me of Toy Story,.. o.O

  • U made that look too ez..... Nice work

  • That was fucking brilliant. You've inspired me to get back into pastel.

  • So what can you use to stop smudging?

  • @HeyItsTyler2000 well oil pastels dont smudge as mush as soft pastels um so I just try not to lean on the drawing or just put a paper on top of the part im not drawing at taht moment so I could put my hand down without smudging ... but I there is like a special glove for sale which people use ... erm smudging doesnt have to be bad ... its just with oil pastel you have to know how to use it to your advantage ... experiment :D

  • looks like just drawing with crayons

  • What type of pastels do u use like what brand :) I'm new to this so I'm just trying to get good tips btw I LOVED THAT!!!

  • I drew a beautiful picture using oil paints but then I dropped it and alas it was gone with smudges and bits of the oil paint stuck to the floor :(

  • @itzCaseyV

I scrap off the oil pastel and the colors stayed and the oil was gone so therefore the smudge problem was eliminated (I use a short and plstic ruler.:) )

  • thanks a mill :D you just thaught me more than my art teacher taught me in the last two years <3

  • i take an art class, but we just started painting. but we used to use pastels, and i was always using chalk pastels, but in like the last class i used oil pastels and i LOVED them, because they didnt have dust that smudged on the paper and your fingers barely got messy and were easy to clean, so i have to say i perfer oil over chalk. i want to buy some :)

  • wow! This was amazing!

  • this was a very good lesson, i also love painting with oil pastels. I never really had lessons of it, so i have a question: how do you dry your paintings?because I want to get them framed and i don't want my painting to get smudged...Do they stay "sticky" forever?

  • @dideletpink erm you can buy a fixative ... like a spray thingy ... thought apparently hair spray works for some people but I guess you need to be carefull incase the paper is really thin.. yeah :)

  • @klauduks thank you! I'll search for it. usually i paint in canvas or a really thick paper, that as a texture which imitates canvas, from CANSON.

  • @klauduks Oh dear! hair spray doesn't work all the time. It even ruined one of my paintings. I'd say stick with a professional spray fixative even with charcoal or graphite.

    Nice work!

  • this is amazing u r really talentes

  • Hey,

How do you keep the pastel dust from messing up the rest of your drawing and also.. I'm using 70 lb paper.. i'm assuming this isnt the best type of paper as it doesnt blend the way I want it to.. any suggestions?

    Thanks! :)

  • @16omg16 pastel dust ? are you talking about soft pastel becouse I dont think you really get dust of oil pastels , they just make your fingers a bit oily ... I think you might be using dry, soft pastel which is a bit different.... and as for the paper I dont know that much apart from the fact that it depends on the paper on how you should layer the colours...

  • i love it ,,,,THX

  • Amazing :)

  • All these instructional art vids like this have cheesy loud music. No offense but I muted it. Nice technique! Gave you a thumbs up.

  • can you list the name of the colors that you used?

  • @jilzack1 I made this a while ago, no sry ... just play around with them and try to layer them ... :)

  • u can draw good

  • Very cool! I love oil pastels.

I just put a Time Lapse of a big oil pastel piece on my channel, let me know what you think!

  • i was amaze...you are holding the camera all the time and you did that greatly..... :)

  • what do you use to blend? or do you just use another color? <:D

  • @PrincessAngstYT yeah I just use other colours ... what makes it easier to do it that way thought is to apply the first layers a bit lightly and the the top layers harder.... :)

  • @klauduks Ah, I see. Thank you :D I can now begin using those pastels that I've had lying around for 2 years xD haha.

  • hey dude, its oil pastel. You can rub the pastel prited on your paper its not just an ordinary one like crayons

  • @klauduks, Umm, what color do you use at 3:02? Is it something in gray or just plain black?

  • what type of paper did you use>? aquarella?

  • @helena4everpeace actually I just used qiute thin paper which was for sketching ... thought oil pastel paper is best to use becouse the surface doesnt let you fill it out too easy ...

  • @klauduks ok then :) i'll try to draw lik that , nice tips :)

  • How 's the name of the song?

  • How do you do that? Great Job! =)

  • wats the song?

  • @treeninja14 trinity by 009 sound system

  • what do you blend with?

  • love this video ... thanks..looking forward to seeing more!

  • What is the type or mark of that pastel like faber castell? cuz i use it and i dont find it that easy

  • @FrustratingSmile It doesnt matter that much what pastels you use .... what maters is if you use them in the right way... do you try overlaying them with different colours ? :)

  • @klauduks I've been trying to learn to draw realistic portraits, And to draw those, the eye must be like too small and it's like impossible to use Faber Castell's sticks (several times with different colors). Your tutorial is great and really helped a lot But how about realistic portraits and the eyes :D

  • @FrustratingSmile well sometimes if the pastels are too big i use a knife to sharpen them and make them thinner ... if that doesnt help just try drawing on bigger paper ... :)

  • @klauduks Student grade and artist grade have noticeable differences in smoothness and blendability, as well as pigment strength. Student grade tends to be much more waxy and hard. For artist grade, different brands have different degrees of hardness. For this reason, it's helpful to have several brands. Use the harder pastels for your first layers (Neopastel) and move to the softer pastels as you add layers (Holbein or Sennelier).

  • O.o HOW LONG U HOLD YOUR CAMERA DURING YOUR DRAW?

  • @warg123able lol a long time :D altought i got a tripod for my newer videos... ^^

  • @klauduks dis kinda record...hold a vidcam while drawing.....O.0...wow..haha

  • Wow, that is amazing, you are so talented...Keep it up. That eye looks so real.

I enjoy your techniques and style....Awesome work...Post more

  • Wow really good (: life like and detailed

  • OMG this would be an exact copy of my eye if it had a brown spot in it!!!

  • It's amazing how you could draw with your right hand while holding the video cam with the other. I couldn't draw without my left hand pressing the paper down.

Anyway, thank you very much for this video. You taught me lots.

  • can you please tell me what is the best paper to draw on with oil pastels...somebody told me water colour paper but i find it very difficult to mix colours on it...

  • great work, Bad song choice.

  • @gremo2k7 I agree! Creativity killer with the song! but artwork great!

  • do you make it smooth wif ur fingers? or dyou blend it wif other colours?

  • @missy7600 no i dont use my fingers i blend them with each other ... the main thing you musnt do is apply the first colour too hard becouse that makes it harder to put more colours on top...

  • @klauduks ok thanks for tip :D

  • I love the technique. Nice eye. Thanks for the video! Love the song too.

  • very good klauduks i haven't tried oil pastel yet!

  • Very nice(:

  • nice dude

  • you are basicly building layers with the oil pastels right? so no blending with mineral spirits or anything... can you make a really "starters" video?? that would be awesome, this is soooo beautiful!

  • @ayellessnuffelhoek thanks for the comment :) yes i guees i could make a video like that but i am a bit scared cuz everyone talks about blending and my video would be like totally opposite...

  • @klauduks tsssk if they don't like your technique tell 'um to shove it. Everyone has their own style, this makes your way unique {:

  • @jodie0011 thanks ^^ possitive comments like yours make my day's :D

  • What kind of paper do you use?

Amazing art btw! Makes me wanna try! =3
