I used to love this game. Just watching this video reminded me of all the crazy ways we tried to work our joysticks to go faster (and usually broke them doing so). I also credit this game with teaching me the Canadian national anthem.
I will never forget how angry I was as a semi-competitive child thanks to this game. I had plenty of time to set all the world records myself playing it alone, but ONE TIME this friend of mine came over and went completely berserk on the 100 meter dash and set a record so intense that I was never even able to come close to it. Damn you, Adam.
I think this is the first time I've seen gameplay action for this...always wanted it back then, but budget was tight and I went for Astro Chase instead :)
The game was originally released on disk, but later was relaunched on cart as part of the XE Game series. I favored the diving portion of all the others. My sister was always skillful at the gymnastics part, actually scoring a perfect "10" back-to-back!
The game had a quirk. If you DQ'ed on the swimming relays, that was considered a world record and there was absolutely no way to undo that. No matter how well you played, the DQ stuck!
Is that alien who jumped to swim?
