  • Is that alien who jumped to swim?

  • joystick killer =) my first computer atari 800 XE. i played this game alot

  • :) perfect game .. i remember sweating like hell when i played the game - like i was actually running ! that was one virtual reality :))

  • I used to love this game. Just watching this video reminded me of all the crazy ways we tried to work our joysticks to go faster (and usually broke them doing so). I also credit this game with teaching me the Canadian national anthem.

  • GREAT POST! Excellent game.

  • I will never forget how angry I was as a semi-competitive child thanks to this game. I had plenty of time to set all the world records myself playing it alone, but ONE TIME this friend of mine came over and went completely berserk on the 100 meter dash and set a record so intense that I was never even able to come close to it. Damn you, Adam.

  • :))

  • I think this is the first time I've seen gameplay action for this...always wanted it back then, but budget was tight and I went for Astro Chase instead :)

  • that dive was sweet!!

  • LOL, yes!!!!

  • I had this one & went through about one joystick per week!

  • omg yess!!!!

  • OMG..I spent so much time playing this as a kid! Great post this was the best atari game in my opinion

  • Holy shit....I remember this game....I loved it...the only way I know the German National Anthem is from this game...

  • jajajajajaja

  • Diving was the best

  • a nice styles of drawing do not make a good game out of necessity!

I am glad to have known this epoch!

  • you and me both, things were fine before your mother power queefed your ass into the world

  • has your voice broken yet

  • lol me 2 lol

  • @JoeNoonan27 at that time, it was very good for home gaming!

  • My favorite events were the Gymnastics and Diving. Thanks for posting!

  • track and field...now that was a game

  • Decathlon

    ^^

  • The game was originally released on disk, but later was relaunched on cart as part of the XE Game series. I favored the diving portion of all the others. My sister was always skillful at the gymnastics part, actually scoring a perfect "10" back-to-back!

The game had a quirk. If you DQ'ed on the swimming relays, that was considered a world record and there was absolutely no way to undo that. No matter how well you played, the DQ stuck!

  • I have this game on the Commodore 64.

  • wow this is very good for 1984 atari agreed ! Was it disk drive only when it came out ?

  • This was agreat game apart from the swimming segments.

  • I remember acing the diving with all perfect scores. Thanks for posting.

  • One of my favourite Atari sport games with Decathlon and Track'n'Field!

  • Wow, that's actually really impressive, compared to other sports games of the time!
