So after watching 20 mins of bad delivery videos, I've learned that UPS and FedEx throws and kicks our boxes around and USPS urinates in our driveways
this entertains me. i work in a ups hub and honestly theres way to much to get done to care. if the box breaks open it gets retaped, if my size 13 boot steps on it O WELL. hate to break it to yall but UPS workers are underpaid as shit which then causes us to not give a shit. which means your stuff gets broken. in fact ive had nights were ive "damaged" 20+ packages in a night. it happens, its usually not even the drivers fault that your stuff got broke its generally in the hub that it breaks.
my guess is he has a UPS manager on his ass to hurry hurry hurry and make scratch (100% efficiency). I worked at a UPS preloading facility for 3 years and believe me if you think your packages are being handled with "great care," you're deluded. When I was a sorter, we'd slam packages on purpose because we hated UPS' management. But in the end you deal with so many thousands of packages that you really don't give a shit about a single box. Screw UPS, glad I don't work there anymore!!
This employee of UPS did not perform his duty in a manner acceptable to UPS. UPS requires all its employees who handle packages to use a "Hand-to-Surface" method, where the package is in your control until it is securely placed to the next surface.
If a driver has to bend over to "gently" set down each and every package he/she delivers, the driver will be on disability with a bad back in no time.
An experienced UPS Package handler usually knows how to handle boxes....My own opinion since I have worked at UPS since I was 17 Now I am 21 and we handle all our boxes with respect, mysekf having handled millions of boxes I can kind of tell whats in the box but that box probably had paper in it or something, thats why he didnt use proper hand to surface technique...its cool UPS has insurance on this type of stuff anyway
The overweight fat man has plenty of time to gently set the package down, UPS delivers billions of packages a day. I'll bet you anything the shit inside your package made it ok did'nt it?
@calicav84: UPS could give a shit about what is inside the box. The broken galss sound was broken glass. UPS is Shit Brown for a reason. We treat the customer like shit and charge out the ass for the service.
actually it's not that bad compared to the " 3rd and long" throws that they usually do. I am sure the union boys will have a word with him and he'll get it right next time. why waste all that walking when you can toss it from the truck?
@Voitcu: Blame it on the sender? What are you Daf? The sender will replace what is broken and it will cost the sender money. That is the last thing I would do with my my product is mishandle it before I sent it to a customer. Keeps your customers happy if you trash the product before you ship it.
@IMRROcom since you have video evidence, you could just file a claim, get your package new for free and all your shipping money and insurance back... but trust me, there's alot worse that goes on in the warehouse
@IMRROcom I'm not quite sure you understand each other, Voitcu seems to be stating that UPS has altercations with the package senders, not necessarily blaming the senders for anything.
@IMRROcom But if u have some young kid in the shipping dept who just wants to call it a day and just throws ur products in a used box with no cushion or protection, it may be damaged. The kid in shipping could care less if it gets there in one piece, just blame UPS. And thats not what i would call a spike in football unless ur playing in peewee leagues. plus daisy dog probably only has twenty stops compared to 150.
what is spiking? is it like vollyball? does he throw the box over his head then slam it with the palm of his hand to the front door? i do not know. for the love of god someone please tell me.
Uhm... In my opinion, the second one doesn't show how it is done either...
Delivery guy walks up the front door, HOLDS the package, rings the bell, waits for someone to open the door and accept the package, and leaves. And if noone answers, come back tomorrow.
@IMRROcom Lots of people with jobs here (Netherlands) too. Still, companies like UPS and the likes are not allowed to just leave any package behind. It has to be accepted by a person.
@webdeseyen: It could be do to the high crime rate in the Netherlands that you need to be a person to person hand off. UPS and every one else just drops at the Door in the US.
@Generalsplatton The thing is who knows what is in the box China Dolls, Model Parts, Brase Train engines etc. all pack well and travel well but when you spike it to the door. Things get broken and busted.
I think UPS drives are just Lazy...Must be a Union thing. Teamsters are lazy you can just see in the job performance.
Because UPS is union! LMAO
