  • too f@#$ing good

  • just wonderful :)

  • I like this a lot and wish there was a more recent version of Prine singing this song. Jason Wilbur would do great playing lead on this.

  • WE LOVE YOU JOHN PRINE ... BEEN LISTENING TO YOU SINCE THE EARLY 70'S

  • no tabs anywhere???? anyone know where i can find the proper music to this...not some chord thing

  • @tom0734

    tom, its c f g

  • John Prine is the BEST

  • Nothing better than the sound of acoustic guiltars in the backyard and listening to John Prines voice.

  • GREAT miss those times, that music, the hair, the works

  • John is a true National Treasure!!!

  • Although I am a dedicated John Prine fan, the reason why I play this video over and over again is actually to listen to John Burns' guitar solos. He is a great guitar player. Anybody knows what happened to him? Is he still active?

  • @LeivK

Me too, another is Gordon Lightfoot doing If You Could Read My Mind on the midnight special, his guitarist is fantastic though they dont show him...

  • @LeivK Oh yes indeed, John Burns is beyond active! He's still kicking out new tunes and recorded some on his "Johnnybones" CD released June 2010. You can get it from CD Baby. His lyrics are genious and guitar licks are better than ever, if that's possible. He recently did a show in Evanston, IL at a venue called SPACE. John had the audience on a roller coaster of bust out laughs and gentle tears. 'Twas a brilliant show by a brilliant guy.

  • Simply Outstanding :-)

  • Beautiful:-)

  • How sweet! (whodathunk a sweet Prine!)

  • was that jackson brown learning his chops?

  • That's John Burns, of Evanston, Illinois, Nashville, and now New Mexico. Son of Jethro Burns, nephew of Chet Atkins. Nice guy.

  • this is amazing...

  • that's killer

  • what a great video, john burns is more impressive every time i hear him, hope he is well !

  • Can anyone question the genius of this? I think not.

  • Prine is a TREASURE!

  • Steve Goodman got Jethro Burns to play with him, and John got his son, baha. Can't beat Prine, great song writer, great performer.

  • Prine and Burns were DANGEROUS together huh?

  • John Burns sure tore it up tonight in Evanston, with Howard Levy, a 10000 star night!

  • Wow. Proud to be American? Where the hell else could you say you were a part of this?

  • AND to think he is from my Chicago hometown....... Makes a man awful proud.

  • Cool

  • Damn that John Burns can PLAY! It helps when Jethro Burns is your dad and Chet Atkins is your uncle...damn, that John Burns stole my 6th grade girlfriend, I can't remember if it was Becky Nelson or Becky Thompson....

  • It was Becky Nelson. AKA my Mom!!!

He should be playing at Fitzgeralds over 4th of July.

  • Right,l he's playing on the 5th of July, fronting his old band, the Famous Potatoes. How is your mom? She did all my writing for me in sixth grade when I broke my arm playing football.

  • She's great!! See you on the 5th!!

  • Thanks for the video,I saw Prine in Roanoke a few years back, just great writer and artist! This brings it all back!

  • Thank you so much for this video. I met John Burns 30 years ago in a club in Chicago. He was so talented, cute, and sweet. I loved going to see John & his band. He is the reason I'm a John Prine fan and I still love & listen to their 3 CD's.

  • Awesome cool song. Makes me feel a little nostalgic being so far away from my old home in Chicago land area. I first saw you with Goodman in GlenEllyne Illinois. I was just Teenager then.
