I hated the narrator in this. Specially here in the end. He sounds like a total fool, misrepresenting and misunderstanding almost everything that Dawkins was trying to get across.
@haylon6 You are not alone my friend... I sometimes feel kind of the same way... I am from Mexico a very "close to god" nation... I often feel out of place, but if you keep looking long enough for intelligent, critical and open-minded people, you will end up with the best friends you could ever wish for...
i have to agree with fishflaps on this interviewer. he seems to see only the surface of things. like about religion teaching us to be good to each other- only unless you're gay, having sex, a witch, infidel etc.
@vladbcom : The book by Nicholas Wade's "Before the Dawn" has some great insight on some of the theories on how religion came about - supposedly it relates to the development of language, sociability and trust amongst the first communities of settlers, i.e. a set of common beliefs, to share and use to recognize an enemy intruder. So it happened that our brain was able to cook up an unfalsifiable, absolute idea, and leave it in charge of an elite group of "chosen ones"...smart but evil ;-)
The fact that religion and science or philosophy share some qualities, doesn't make them equal. I'm all for salvaging good ideas in any field, but some seem to have much more to offer for the future of mankind than a place above the clouds or the love of an invisible being ;-)
Some cannot accept that Religion's main goal was to be a work of litrature attempting to explain our surrounding because of our confusion, rather than strict endoctrins on how to live life or how to do things. One thing about people is that they push things too far.
"I came away from my meeting [with Richard Dawkins] more confused than enlightened."
"The stickler for science who loves religious imagery; the man who seeks morality yet hates faith. Like a moth to a flame, he seems endlessly drawn to the very things, spiritual and irrational, that he says he hates."
No, that's wrong. It may seem that way to someone who cannot separate kindness and empathy from believing in ridiculous things.
That's very nice and brave of you. To live in a place with so many theists. There come a few more video's here, so keep in watch! Greetings from Europe.
The human perception of what our tribe encompasses is growing. The human tribe encompasses not just our family and our species, but rather a large assortment of life.

That narrator really annoyed me. He kind of ruined what would have otherwise been an awesome mini-biography.

The interviewer obviously had not read the book, nor did he seem to even understand what Dawkins was takling about.

The interviewer strikes me as a particularly unintelligent individual...

I wonder what the human race will evolve into in several million years time?

Why can no one separate morality and poetic beauty from religion?
Can no one accept that atheists can be good, kind, creative, and in awe of the world without supernatural influence?
What sort of world do we live in, indeed.

Altruism is about tribalism.
