@DelightfullyBritish well, the first anime's storyline was too different from the original (manga) storyline. During the 1st half it followed only the manga's basics, and the 2nd half was really different

the brotherhood is supposed to be a "remake" that follows the manga's storyline untill the end. however, there are some differences, like some ommited or altered scenes and exclusive characters. but at least it's more loyal to the manga's main plot line.

@runeguy221akaredguy2 The difference between Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and the old one is that FMA:B follows the original manga. The old FMA, after a few episodes, went into an entire different plot and storyline than what the author had written in the manga.
