Well the site is located in Sweden and its not illegal to download Software because the American copyright law doesn't apply there. Technically it is illegal but you are one of the 25millions users using the pirate bay so the odds of you getting in trouble for one download is like the chances of John McCain being the president for 2008. My advice is don't worry, me and almost everyone at my school use the pirate bay.
