A very noir feel to heroics, yes? It was violent, of course, but that's what also makes it very human. Not just because we are violent as well, but to show the ramifications of violence.
Very akin to the comics, considering they did it almost scene by scene, which makes it very visually stunning. The comic is better though. Always are, right?
I liked Watchmen quite a bit. My favorite characters were Dr. Manhattan and Rorschach. The director used a trick there with Dr. Manhattan, though. When you're watching a movie and they explain a character then they move away from that character for an hour and suddenly he's back in the story, you've been distanced from him. You don't feel a connection as strong as the other faces that you have been seeing for the past hour. That way it was easy to make it turn out the way it did.
Hmm, honestly I didn't enjoy the movie very much. The idea of the true life of a super hero is cool but I felt the plot all just led up to that cliche ending where there are two choices and both suck. It's a true to life situation, screwed if you do and screwed if you don't. I just felt the movie was way too long and drawn out to get to that point. I think all the character development is great in a comic, but in a movie, its boring. They should have left it as just a comic.
Yea, i might be able to agree with what you said about the movie drifting off its point, but that was done i think to teach the viewers a lot about the characters.
Yeah, I just think movies are meant to be more concise than comics and books. The fellowship of the Ring was a BIG book but even that first LOTR movie was more to the point than this LONG watchmen movie. It's not fun to learn about a character's background if it has NOTHING to do with the plot. Hero is killed, another hero investigates, they follow the clues and find another Hero has framed the strongest of the heros in order to 'save the world' the actual plot is so simple - not worth 3 hours..
I agree with what you said, it puts an alternative spin on the superhero genre in a way which the audience can really relate to because it shows heroes in such a naturalistic way.
I was hoping that the movie had more neon blue penises. I mean they only showed neon blue penises like 13 or 14 times? Come on! Perhaps in the future we will get more neon blue penises in a movie.

Lol well, i havent yet seen the movie to be honest but my friends all say it stunk lol, so i'm not really sure what to say lol, might just check out a bootleg of it but, not sure right now :P,but the avengers movie coming like next year is gunna be awsome :) they still gotta make the thor movie, they made iron man, hulk, and they still gotta make captain america movie lol
