  • this is one AWESOME TRACK!!! classic!!

  • My dad used to call me his brown eyed girl. My dad had died when this came out, but when I hear it, I hear him calling me to him. I love and miss him so much, you will forever live in your children and grandchildren hearts because we make sure they know you.

  • gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it and I listen to Brown-eyed. girl at least 3x a week. hes singing to me and everyother brown-eyed girl in the world!

  • I am a 52 year old brown eyed girl. Will someone sing this song to me?

  • Listen to Chris on Piano,it sounds like heaven man.

  • the music of the Isley brothers will live forever. Do people know Jimi Hendrix was the teacher for Ronald when he was in his teens?

  • @TheMaster4one WRONG! First you are probably referring to Ernie Isley (guitarist). Second Ernie was never formally "taught" by Jimi Hendrix. Ernie was very much influenced by Jimi and has said many times before although Jimi Hendrix was "an employee and house guest" with the Isleys, Ernie simply listened to Jimi Hendrix play in the other room while Ernie was doing "social studies". Ernie referenced this on the Arsenio Hall show in 1993, and recently on the Tom Joyner Morning show Feb 10, 2012.

  • @mysterybat35 You are right,I just hear him on TJMS,good job.

  • This song makes me cry tears of joy and melts my heart each and every time I hear it. I was 16 years old when I first heard and it had the same affect on me then.

Thank God for the Isley Brothers and there fine catalog of wonderful music.

  • I just read that it's Chris on the piano, amazing! love it

  • I love the Isley brothers, and the piano player in this song is amazing!!!

  • All brothers, Chris Jasper is brother-in law.

  • I believe they all related. brothers and cousins. asked my mom and dad and they said the same.

  • Ahhh beyond magnificent! I NEVER tire of this song. I have a question. It says the Isley Brothers, are all of them on the album cover brothers? Could someone provide me with the family dynamic? Much appreciated :-).

  • smooth

  • @islyrogers I'm fifty nine and still love the Isley Brothers and all old school music. It' the best.

  • Brown eye girl ebony beautifull around the world peace.

  • i love every thing about the Super Bad Isleys Brother yeah there Michael Jackson Bad......

  • Yes- Chris - the Piano player --man he is really banging those MAJ7 ths on this tune. Gotta think Carol King and Todd Rudren learned something from the Isleys.

  • Love it ! Puts me in a chilled out mood

  • OMG.. this is for you Dietra Mcdaniels, ..hahhahaha we were 13-14 then..I hope your well.

  • ~ I'm gonna have to get familiar with the Isley Bros. ~

Just listened to thier version of 'Work To Do' and now this

SOOO GOOOD . LOVE the old stuff. So much feeling in this.

  • ron isely can do a show of just his 1# hits and it still will be a 3 hr show. lol

  • I love this song

  • a family affair. all of the isley brothers were good looking and could belt out a tune. god bless their families. thank you for posting this tune. this takes be back to being a teenager. my parents had all their music. ron put it down with the help of the group. this was serious music that tells about many things going on today.

  • Soulful, romantic, melodic stone grove. This is definitely a classic. It doesen't get any better than this!!! Chris Jasper, baby, baby, baby.

RIP PAMELA S. HUNTER, one beautiful brown eyed girl. la ya girlfriend.

    T

  • A Real Scorcher!!

  • Flame onn, respect from holland!

  • Go see this group LIVE. Saw them during their "Showdown" tour. Will never forget the drive to Los Angeles.

  • right now my brown eyes has tears..thank you Isley Brothers..they are still apart of my memories and joy..

  • This is a different song than the one Van Morrison wrote, if you listen to both they are completely different. This one is absolutely goregous and I love it very much. Thanks for the upload.

  • This will always be a classic...

  • YEPPPPP!!!

  • chris jasper on the keyboard makes this song stand out!

  • PalmBeach1028 - thanks for the correction...Glad I was wrong about that.

  • Comment removed

  • @L78lancer This song is NOT the Van Morrison song. They are two completely different songs that sound nothing alike.

  • @PalmBeach1028 Thanks for catching that, @L78lancer. Two completely different songs..no surprise, however. Master songwriters like Ron Isley are often overlooked - he has been writing steadily for almost 50 years! Brown Eyed Girl is one of his best.

  • @PalmBeach1028 true and both are great songs.

  • "Time passes slowly" feel good music

  • Great song!

  • I must have played this song over and over on the first time that I heard it back in the day, and I still love it!!!!Go head guys.

  • the Isleys had so many great albums that the "Live it Up" album that included this, "Hello It's Me"; "Lover's Eve", gets overlooked often, but this was one of their best imo.

  • Ah, I remember when I thought they said "One-eyed Girl"...

  • love this song !!!!

  • Ugh this is such an amazing song. I never tire of listening to it. Rons smooth lead vocal, his brothers backup vocals, & the amazing instruments all works so well together. I listen to this song all the time but 1 of my fav times to listen to it is on a bright summer day while driving with my top down & this tune blaring. People who appreciate good music will be bobbing their heads to it as I drive by. Hands down this is truly a fantastic piece of musical genius by the brothers :)

  • I've only heard this song once before, but it stayed in my head for a long time and now it's become one of my all-time favorite Isley tunes. Even though they were/are one of the greatest R&B groups of all time, they almost can't be classified as one thing or the other because of their diverse, varied style and songs and that's pretty amazing.

  • I love this song! Classic!

  • @willpowa7 dont forget how much Zapp and Roger laid out the hip hop style. I dont think that Zapp is better in what he did, just contributed in different ways. The Isleys were a stronger band for sure..Listening to how Ron sings, Ernies guitar, and Jaspers keys....whoa...It was good they are brothers or i doubt they would have stayed together so long...Thankfully my mom was into them back in the 60's so i have heard lots of them. Every decade they keep on doin it!

  • listen to the greatest keyboardist/pianist in soul/ R&B ,gospel and funk, PERIOD.

The GREAT Chris Jasper-the brother -in-law (all the way at the far right in the photo)

-influenced EVERYONE from Stevie Wonder to early band backup member Elton John and countless others

Listen to him stomp those keys and play the F#$k out of this song

End of story-class is in session-PERIOD!!!!!

  • @willpowa7 Thumbed you up man. Nice comment. Like when someone write's a comment and know what they are talking about.

  • Oh yeah. What else is there to say?

  • Kids today really truly dont know the Art of Fine Music. Its all shake your ass, grab your crotch, pop your shoulder bullshit... The Isley Brothers Are like Starch. It just smoothes out everything & makes it better.. Yeah!

  • @fourfootgrace I agree... to a degree. I'm 22. I listen to a little of everything, and to be honest, there are a lot of good modern artists out there, they're just not recognized. Many of today's youth merely do not respect the classics, but there are a few of us out there that do, even if we listen to modern rock or rap, as the case may be.

  • SANG RONALD !!!!!!!!!

  • THE BEST SLOW SONG EVER MADE

  • @slugboyz21 Yes that one of the Greatest!!!!!!

  • Dem some hefty cats! I would have loved to see a made-for-TV battle royal between the Isleys and a team of the boys from Bonanza plus The Big Valley. Rudy Isley versus Nick Barkley? Ernie Isley toe-to-toe with Lil' Joe? Marvin against Hoss?

  • @hork111 HaHa! That's what I love about the Isleys. They just look sooo brotherly. And somehow, to me they don't look less rootsy to me for having channeled an "unique" vision when it came to their clothes...... they OWN their style, and you would not want to meet brother Rudy (Black Zeus) down a dark alley let alone Ernie getting some precision kicks in whilst signifying on the guitar at the same time! They look like real men. And can play and sing their tails off too! Love 'em!

  • One of my absolute favorite Isleys song. I heard it one time and wanted to steal the cd from my ex. Still love it.

  • We worked out cha cha steps to this song in our college dorms. When (most) music was music...

  • wow, this was really really good.

    What happened to popular music?

Why is popular music so vulgar, so violent now?

There is no joy, no soul.

But, this is really, really good.

  • to Joan from Dennis 1975 NSC now NSU

  • This song makes me feel so good. It puts me in a mood that I can't explain. I love the Isley Brothers! Beautiful

  • @ThaDevinite you could also call them dad because they are probably responsible for a lot of babies getting here in the first place. Especially with that Senuality Album. Hey you kids out there around 33-35 guess what? LOL!

  • LOL! You got that right!

  • classic!!!!

  • No, I am an Outlaw out of north St, Louis sorry!

  • don't the Isley Brothers (or at least Ron Isley) have hits for every decade since they began?

  • From the 60s until now. No hits this decade yet.

  • @mohinderbauer untoucheable,

  • @mohinderbauer Yes!!!

  • @mohinderbauer ...I love it! Keep the flame going!

  • I was so young and yet I had no ideal this song would affect me in the such a profound way. I sit and listen to this song over and over again, I am 48 years old now and I have my Brown Eyed Girl her name is Rosalyn and she need not look no further than my shadow. "I love you Roz"!!!

    Thanx Isley Brothers

  • @Outlawv60 I hope you and ur beautiful brown eyed girl stay in LOVE & grow old 2 gether. :-)

  • @therealraybaby Thank you, I am certain we will, it is my belief that she is an angle sent from heaven by God himself as she came into my life when I was in the middle of a thirteen year crack cocain addiction.

  • The GREATEST keyboardist/pianist in soul/gospel/R&B music

    NO QUESTION!!!

    The great Chris Jasper!!!!

Influenced everyone from Stevie Wonder to ex backup band member Elton John

listen to the God of keyboards Chris Jasper stomp those keys

class is in session kiddies!!! Listen and learn Chris Jasper created the STANDARD style for playing keyboards/piano in modern R& B

  • @willpowa7 How right you are!!!!

  • There,s none other like The Isleys! They've been around since forever and still got the feelin'! what happened to that incredible keyboard player Jasper/ now, there's only frontman, Ronald and Ernie, the smokin' guitarist.

  • i let her get away.but everytime i hear the isley,s she,s right back in my arm,s

  • Nothing can make you feel good like the Isley Brothers They just don't get the recognition that they deserve. The music puts you right back there until you can even smell the food cooking and the sound of the Eight track whistling !!!

  • @ashaya01 That's exactly what it does to me also I have to force my self to come back into the now. I drift off into this place were life was good and I was care free not a worry in the world. The Isley Brothers were one of a kind, as were most aritst of that era, they just don't make them like that anymore either. (1LUV)

  • Isley Brothers = Best Band EVER!!! PERIOD ... alot of us should be calling some of there songs daddy cuz i kno every1's pops is as smooth as these brothers
