I have 3 cats...one cat gets all hyper & pushy with catnip, another gets mellow & sleepy, and the third one could care less. We have a big catnip patch outside & the one who gets all hyper goes out & lays in the catnip, rolls back & forth, rips the leaves off and acts goofy. Sometimes the 2nd one sleeps in the patch & hides underneath. The one who doesn't care gets ambushed from the catnip :)

I read that catnip affects male cats stronger than female cats and that it gives off a similar scent to a female cat in heat. Female cats like it as well. Shoulda known it all boiled down to 'sex' the lure of it, the smell of it. Is Maru neutered?

See this is why I love Cats, they are Clowns, they comfort when your down, & all they ask is some food and all your love!! I lost my Best friend, 2 years ago, Lady, She was the runt of the litter, and never got very big, But Lady was all heart, I am disabled and she ALWAYS knew when I was hurting I'd lay on the couch or bed & she would be right there giving comfort & love with out boundries. She was my Best Friend for 18 years, She passed in my arms, just of old age, Good Lord how I miss her

A Scottish fold has folded ears due to a cartilage deformity, and if two folded-ear SF's are bred together, the kittens could die and are often born deformed and sickly. Straight-Ear SF's are extremely valuable to the breeding pool because they carry the gene to continue the breed, but they can be bred safely to a Folded-Ear SF.

@Aslara :/ didn't you know ? a cat of maru's size is a happy cat ! my cat goes to the vet often for check ups, and she's pretty fat (and we keep her on a perfectly good diet WITH EXERCISE) and the vet says that she's perfectly healthy . just cos he/she is a little SOLID , doesn't mean he/she isn't healthy.

@cezaanimefreak I had a huge female cat, she was like a bear cub. She developed diabetes at 19 yrs but managed to beat it and was diabetes clear after 12 months treatment.

She finally succumbed at 21 yrs to kidney failure. (Caused by her love of dry dog food!)

Cats can quickly lose weight and condition if they get even a little bit ill, it's better to let them be heavy IF they are active and healthy otherwise.

Damn...I loved that cat, once in a lifetime pet.
