  • Under the new and coming world socialist world government every household will be supplied with one of these monsters!

  • Thats a engine for ya!

  • i used to have a lorry with this same engine, 25 years on i am still having nightmares that a valve was dropped, or a rod broke. i don't know if you will agree on that but i think this engine came on the worst possible time for the British truck manufacturers as well as sisu and put them all out of business. it is more like a CROW rather than an eagle. but anyway the sound and smoke that it was producing could be compared to a locomotive

  • это вам не авиационный орёл который ставили на самолёты в первую мировую

  • This engine was used in the dennis dominators first mainline and leyland trucks in the 80's

  • I thought the RR eagle was an wwII aircraft engine with 2 crankshafts that could power 2 props. Is that what we see here?

  • The Rolls Royce Eagle series diesel engine was a commercial vehicle/heavy plant engine. It's main drawbacks were it's inability to contain it's own water and oil whilst running. After a buy out the Eagle's became the Cummins 2000 series, equally as crap. lol

  • This, is the one with the bad reputation. for some strange reason, they tended to catch fire...which is why they were not that popular. Credit where it's due when they are running properly they sound really nice. Our MCW metrobus which has this engine when we fire it up really does sound nice!

  • Nice cart, man, now put a seat and a drive axle on it...

  • NICE!!! nice I never knew Rolls Royce made a Diesel engine until 4 months ago, Very nice

  • Indeed, but they had a very poor reputation for reliability. They do however sound nice...

  • Oh yes of course, this probably one of the smoothest running diesels I've ever seen or heard, I love how smooth it sounds when it runs.

  • Our group has one of these RR eagles on an old double decker bus which we own. We have another bus with a Cummins L10, which honestly is a much better engine.

  • true, Cummins engines are indeed the good stuff.

  • did they?

    r u sure?

  • r u sure u r not talking about the 2 stroke opposed piston engines?

  • Forgive me, I don't understand your question?

  • the unreliable rolls royce diesels were the opposed piston 2 strokes I think or did u mean even this model is unreliable?

Ive heard good things about their other diesels.
