This hideous utterly strident lunatic dispenses persnickety psychobabble bizarrely meshed with feel-good junkism, thinly veiled by a tacky brand of artifice & materialism, for the unwitting masses, predicated upon null apprehension of prevailing geo-political drivers that perpetuate her senseless prognostications & pseudo-gospel-of-wealth-for-the-ages, wrapped in a fallacious NWO abetted New Age 'ism prattle, for a controlling cleptocracy...that highly encourages....bush munch mania; no kidding
@UtubeAdminSucksAss: You said it aptly! Wow....did not know about this raving lunatic; say, feel free to chuckle were you to read my "Summary Polemic Retort" to her strident, ill-informed, supercilious psychobabble. LOL, a whacked out bush munching spread-eagle wanker would be my guess...culled from an incisive first impression: NEXT. Where do they find this ceaseless barrage of biker-d_kes: good grief.
My bad. I know it was the worst way I could have insulted Suzie. But she does bother me enormously. Nevertheless, it was wrong of me to attack her in the fashion I did. I have no excuse.. I hope she can forgive me.
She's so right when she says it's not about what you can get away with buying. You need to consider everything in your life. Why try to get away with "affording" things especially when using credit? If you are using credit, does that not mean by default that you can't afford your life?
I love the way she is so straight forward and up front. It's great to have someone with experience tell you what you should and should not do. Quality of life depends on money it's true even though we may think it should not. You can't be happy without at least some money for the basics.
suze is always right!!! Lol, I try and watch her every weekend now if not I dvr it! But an emergency fund is crucial. I wish I would have had one... as quality of life depends on your takin care of yourself financially
I haven't generally liked this "Can You Afford It" segment because it always seemed too narrowly focused. But in this video, Suze actually takes a larger view and wraps the money question in the larger "How does this fit in my life" question. Good job.
Interesting concept and a great way to have people pause before they buy. But would people really walk around with their "boil-over" figure in their mind and say "oh, this purchase would/would not be covered, along with all my other monthly expenses, by my disability insurance, or my life insurance policy, or my personal emergency fund..." ?
People c an make fun of her and how she sounds all they want, but America and the world in general need to listen and take her words to heart. Look at the mess the US economy is in now, spending money we do not have and a debt left to burden future generations. God Bless Suzie!
If you loose your job you cant afford anything..not even an apartment so what is the difference? I understand the concept of living within your means but if you loose your job you probably wont be able to afford anything. You wont be able to put gas in your car let alone making the payment of the insurance in addition to food and rent.
You could have a couple of months emergency living expenses as saving and not have those unnecessary debt repayments, so that you actually have a chance of getting another JOB before you lose your car, house, etc etc. If losing your job is the end of the *world*, then your world is gonna end at some point in your life.

Suze is a financial expert for the paranoid schizo's out there. Murphy Law makes it difficult to save like she wants people to save. Also those with children cannot afford to save. I'm old school. Limit your debt by avoiding borrowing when you don't need to. Remember Bernie Madoff, Where are the billions.

She is so wonderful. Before personal finance was always spoken in a language the common man couldn't understand. She tells it like it is in plain language to the masses. For this I thank her!

@JasonBourne342 b/c if you have a house the creditors can put leans on the home and that's less money that your next of kin would get.
