You need to see Cesar Millan's show because that's an agressive possessive yorquie and in time (hope not0 you will get tired of that bad attitude and that's one of the reasons dogs are ending up at the pound.
my puppy does the same thing my mom bought me teddy bear and now she thinks that she owns it now the teddy bear lost its two eyes and the nose and a half slightly torn ear
all i can say is oh my gosh that was so funny that i literally started crying from laughter. I dont know what your dog has against his toys but let me tell you this he is vindictive twards them
And to everyone else on here that's commenting on how to train your dog....I know it's important, but dogs can be unpredictable. Our dog is very well behaved, yet still manages to randomly snap at children. ::shrugs::
still needs to know whos boss, if it snapped at me, id roll it over on its back, hold it, and lean right over it and growl at it, intimidate it and show it whos boss, it doesnt harm it just shows there position in the pack (your house), as small as they are, there teeth can be razor sharp, and as the poster says, the last thing you need for a little cutey like these are, is a snap out of place and to a child. I can take any toy off of any of ours, there is no problem, and shouldnt be.
@ladystardust2008 i know really. my yorkie kills her toys. she isn't a biter at all its only certain toys she plays different games that she has made up on her own with different toys.
so damn cute. mine does that too. we usually throw the thing and she'll bring it back but will growl when we try to take it. If we dont throw it, she'll just push that soggy toy to us till we actually throw it XD
ur dog is the alpha in the pack atm... u need to show him/her who's boss. he/she will like it too... most dogs will happily become a follower and display submissive behavior when living with a confident dominant human.
@yoimdanigga - hahahahaha. LOL. my puppy thought his toy attacked him too but he didn't hit the table, he tripped over one toy while playing with another. XD
Im not sure but...my beagle sometimes does that, we are playing and she pretends to bite me (I know that because the bites doesent hurt) isnt that what the yorkie is doing? o_O
i agree with mingofamily...it might be funny for now but it could get ugly later.
just a helpful tip :) dogs are pack-animals, and a pack always has an "alpha". unless the dog doesn't know/understand that you're the "alpha" it can pretty much feel free that it has the right to bight who ever it likes(probably). i'd set some ground rules before it gets out of control...
but since i am a huge fan of yorkies and own one myself, ill say you got a winner there :))
i know its no one business to tell you how to train your yorkie. However I would like to give you a different outlook. My yorkie used to do the same with her toys, but never to the extent of snapping at us. Last year a friends little girl 2years old grabbed one of his toy, and our yorkie bit her in the face. She required 13 stitches, and shortly a lawsuit followed behind it. So please be careful rewarding this kind of behavior. It how we train our animals that make the difference.
@35stevo - yes they do in cases like that. that isn't something you can just brush off. oh your dog hurt my baby. big deal because we're friends. YEAH RIGHT. sorry but my babies are more important than "friends" that don't train their dog when they know it can get possessive and aggressive.
@mingofamily I hate kids. I would have that problem because they are never around but thanks for the info. It is ver good to be aware of legal issues that may arise. I cant belive someone would go to the extent of suing another because of a dog bite. Eh, you live and learn.
@ccervantes4life when I was a little child my parents taught me to NOT touch cats and dogs when they eat, or simply to NOT touch other people's animals or they toys. I loved animals though (still do) and always used to put my hands where I shouldn't have done, and I have come back home so many times with scratches and bites. those times, it was my fault "I told you!" they said and they would never have thought of suing the owner.Times have changed, I guess.Maybe in a better way... or maybe not.
Exactly, my parents tought me the same thing, but nowadays parents very often let children do whatever they want, and when something bad happens , they blame a dog.
@mingofamily so much for them being friends since they sued you, they should train their kids not to grab the dog's toys as well. it's just like a kid grabbing another kid's toy, they get mad, maybe not bite but they hit saying- leave my toys alone. all these people trying to tell you what to do...............................
Wow this video sure says a lot about your intelligence.
I saw your other video too and I honestly think you are doing it all wrong.
You're supposed to assert your status as alpha male/female when you first get her, and obviously you didn't do that because your yorkie now thinks she can do whatever she damn well pleases. Now get off your ass and pinch it or SOMETHING, instead of laughing your asses off.
funny but he needs to know his place, biting you when he has something is a really bad thing, praising it makes him think he owns you and that toy, its okay that he shakes it about and growls at it as long as he knows when its time to stop and that you own it
My dog Muffin does that and he yaps at it, and growls, and shakes it all that he can. And then eventually, he just pulls the stuffing out...He loves to throw his squirrel up in the air :]

thats not healthy for the dog.
if your dog goes aggro on somebody and bites them in the future...
1. Hospital
2. That person may file lawsuit against you
3. Your dog may have to be put down (im not sure but this always happens in movies)
You should allow your dog to socialize with other dogs.... it shudn't bite anyway :P
my beagle did that... i always hit it gently with a stick and make him drop the toy if he's too aggro
he's now a very nice dog :P wonderful to have him around to play with!!!
