Awesome!! I want to be an Ironworker so bad. Lived in St. Louis for 3 yrs and tried out 3 different times there through the pre-apprenticeship program. This was local 396. I live in and was born and raised in Rockford, Il. I am 28 yrs old now and I work as a machine operatorin a Driveline shop. Hopefully one day to be an Ironworker!
@bgrindle1611 Keep at it kid. Sometimes it's not a matter of you're not wanted or somebody doesn't think you're qualified-- the work picture just is what it is. If you want it bad enough, go get in one of the lower paying locals elsewhere that tend to be a bit easier and transfer when you become a member.
