The total probability is not 12 by the total number of socks but 2 by the number of colores:red and blue. Insted of 12 posible outcomes in reality there is only two: red or blue.If there were 12 socks of 12 different colores then could talk about 12 posible outcomes. No?

If there were equal red and blue socks, then yes, the probability would be 1 and 2. But it is unequakl, and that's what probability is all about.
