  • would it still taste good if made in a Dehydrator

  • lol. My mom used to make this when I was younger & I thought it was so weird because there were so many flies around. But it tastes sooo good when it's ready to eat.

  • kai? more liek thai

  • we call it mjudadjura.. GAgaGGaHAHhahaHaHhAHA

  • Looks like poop.

  • @MahajiHaji no

  • beef jerky is เนื้อแดดเดี่ยว นี่เอง thanks ครับ

    now i can make one.

  • Awesome video. Thanks.

  • Looks great. Going to give it a shot.

  • If you're going to store it for a while, do you not fry it in oil until you're ready to use it?

  • wow u guys have been living more than 1000 years? lol

  • its bomb

  • Wow, he served it with rice. Didn't see that comming.

    (yes I'm being sarcastic)

  • would it be good with wild game like venison

  • After it's dried, is that the point at which you can store it for a while if you wish? The frying at the end, that's just one way to serve it, right? You could actually just dry it in the sun, then bag it and put it away, even at room temperature, for some time? Is that right?

  • ok the end got me lmao sticky rice hahahahahaah

  • no soy sauce?? why

  • already in the meast :)

  • Looks good.

  • Ha... responses for over 2 months.

Thanks for everyone who responded, it is muchly appreciated.

  • that looks very good!

  • Goes good with sticky rice & raw paw-paw salad.

  • UUMMMMM! Mate you Really need to sharpen your Clever.....

  • Cheers for the idea caper, but I think I'm going with a thin net alternative. Not that different at all.

  • Thanks for the great vid.!!!

  • Sad music to remember the cows by?

I love this recipe, but the insects would be all over my meat before even half way done sun drying. any sun lamp alternatives?

  • The spices drive the bugs away.

  • put them in a oven

  • I think a good alternate to the outside sun is to use your oven,

Set it at a really low temprature and cook for about 4 hour's.

Also if you really want to cook outside and keep the bug's away you can make a smokey fire and hang the meat well above it.

This will keep the bug's away and give your meat a nice smokey flavour.

  • use some sort of net over it ;) mosquito net or something

  • im eating now one dried beef jerky yummy

  • Yeh im also thai my mum makes this like every week with yummy Rice and u put the jerky on the rich eat it together <3 and its so delicous its like a fire cracker in your mouth Yum! <3333

  • dang thai food are good.beef jerky with sticky rice and papaya salad

  • what do you do to keep the jerky from spoiling..in the sun

  • wow look at those very skilled hands of a chef. He must be a professional to be able to sun-dry those jerkies

  • dont bug and flyes get on there??? i remeber my dad always make that every summer but his had the net cover it so bug wont get on it....

  • Re: Apsaraqu

Yes you would always have to cover it with either a screen or net. Where there is warmth, heat, there is always flies.

  • ok it makes sense now. no one told me you had to deep fry them. it makes sense now thank you

  • re: Teddywolf

You don't need to fry it, you can sautee it with minimal oil. I learned from watching my dad..... He used a baking pan, marinated the beef that was cut into about 1/2 to an inch size, placed it out in the sun for a few hours, turned it once, then few hours and it was done.

  • coz asians are hardcore XD

  • tuffn up princess!!!!!!!

  • don't knock it til you try it. Laos food FTW!

  • mmmmmmmmmmm

    those look good.

  • Im Lao/Thai, both foods are nearly the same anyway.

  • very nice idea. I am gonna have to try that. but sundryed is a problem. in sweden there isn't much sun now days =/

  • That was cool! Make more vids!

  • 2 things I put in EVERYTHING, well almost everything. either hotsauce, or garlic. I love garlic, great flavor. Great Jerky, I made some the other day

  • yummy ^_^

  • ahha reminds me of my mom's cooking. gotta love lao/thai food :]

  • Man! That is so... O___o

    Wonderful! haha!

You must be a great husband since

you can cook so well! haha

  • Nice recipe - the only problem here in the UK is no bloody sun

  • an electric fan or food dyhydrator also work fine.

  • yum..papaya salad and sticky rice ^_^ sounds hella good right now..

  • You can make jerky in a few hours. Just put the marinated beef or whatever meat you prefer in the oven set at low heat. Dries faster. But it lacks the flavor and yummy aroma of sun-dried meat.

  • Is there bacteria from this?

  • The salt and other spices act as preservatives.

  • to pnamed:

you get two plastic basket and stick the meat in there. tie the two baskets together and hang them. or if not that they have this sort of hanging basket that is made spesifically to prevent bugs, its ventilated so the meat would dry a little better. stuff is hella bomb with vinigar sauce with chili =]

  • Thank you for your help!!!...KAI

  • "How do you prevent flies and other insects from getting into your meat while its sun drying outside?"

Easy just get a fly net at a dollar store or something.. Something big enough to cover it that is transparent. As long the sun the can shine through. Also note that lots of flies and beas will be around your house.

  • Use window screnn.

  • I'll keep that in mind, thank you !

  • wow another fantastic reicpe!

  • You also make great food too.

    .....KAI

  • x2 thats what i wonder

  • Is there an alternative to deep-frying them ?

  • Omgosh that looked soooo good!!!!

  • Kai, you are the man and gorgeous!

I bet you get all the chicks!

Best videos ever, keep making them!!!

    KAI 4 LIFE!!!

  • this looks so great!!! What can I do instead of deepfrying? you have alot of deep fried stuff, and I don't mind the occasional deep fried dish but I dont like the health factor.

  • Wooow that looks so yummy!!!!!!!!

  • great cook

  • can you make a recipe on jellyfish??

  • what's the song playing in the background. sounds familiar?

  • my parents have a meat dehydrater so do you get the same taste if you use a meat dehydrater than sundrying?

  • if u put the meat outside.. wont it get eaten by flys?

  • put a wired like strainer over it thats what my parents do i know its hard to describe the strainer so youd have to see it visually to understand what i mean by that

  • looks so good! :)

  • Nice!

  • how long does the meat stay good?

  • kai, u are awesome, ur cooking have made it easy for us low budget family. Keep up the good work KAI!!!!

  • so how is its texture after youve dried and fried them?

  • Great! just like the texture of any beef jerky you buy from store, but this has more flavors.

  • cover them with screen.

  • Now I know what to do with left over meats!!!

  • Damn, that's interesting! I suppose when you dry the meat under the sun, what do you cover them with so that the birds, pests won't feed on it??

  • The window screen works for me... =)
