  • Its all very simple. The man is lonely since his wife died. Being in the country where 'people talk', he couldnt go hooring around the village, so he arranged for a high class hooker to come over from France on the made up story she was coming to buy the aul horse. Meanwhile the hooker arrived and fell in love with him because he was cooking with her favorite lube. They forgot about the horse altogether till the son said 'whos takin the horse'. Simple.

  • Could someone please explain what's supposed to be going on here? I haven't seen this ad since I was a kid and I was hoping it would make sense to me this time.

  • "we're going to be serving now any minute, ye dirty feckers"

  • This always felt like it was gonna be a trilogy, like the nescafe adverts...But then they never made a part two or three?

Wonder did the advert get a bad reception, or something.

  • "..I'm going ta be serving now, any minute.."

  • Oh come on, lighten up! Of course it's stereotypical, that's why we find it funny and Hairy Baby are using the slogan on T-Shirts decades later :)

  • Old Kerrygold ads implying that good food and romance equals French? Almost racist they're so stereotypical...

  • I believe the beloved horse went on to become a lovely pate to adorn some eurotrash menu

  • Pause at 0:29....She's givin the young woman a dirty look!
